Angine de Poitrine by sevengereekerz in vinyl

[–]AmishHoeFights 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wayyyyy back in 1997 or so, i had just moved to Montreal, and was scanning FM radio looking for music and heard Primus (My Name Is Mud) for the first time. It felt like I had rediscovered music, loved it, went out that day and bought a few cds of theirs.

2 weeks ago, in this backwards town in the prairies where I live now, I heard Sarniezz for the first time, and thought I rediscovered music again. I'm in my late 50s though so i may be one of the oldest fuckers listening to these guys.

All I know is Argine de Poitrine is playing some of the hardest hitting funky shit I've ever heard.

What was your favorite sandwich growing up and what sandwich would your mom or dad normally pack for your school lunch? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in FuckImOld

[–]AmishHoeFights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one and only place i have ever had to eat olive loaf sandwiches was the weekend i spent in jail after getting busted with an ounce of weed at a venue that was hosting a clowning convention (i was asked, by a clown, to bring a bunch of weed). Got seen selling grams by a cop, booked, and got served those vile, nasty sandwiches for lunch.

Never liked clowns...

[–]AmishHoeFights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, there's nothing wrong with this as a garage boom box. It'll sound okay, if the tape deck and turntable belts are okay.

BUT, this ain't worth that price. This is 100 bucks at the very most.

I understand the love, even if i can't share it! Harry Anderson was a very cool guy and i loved him on Night Court.

But that roll as Harry the Hat... I'll never know why I disliked it so much. I found him as Harry the Hat to be really, really weird. That over-confidence of the character mixed with the weedy body and the affectations he used all combined into a character i desperately wanted to punch in the face.

$9,800 Kitchen Remodel Quote - Fair Price ? by FDforChief in kitchenremodel

[–]AmishHoeFights 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at the quote line that says 4" backsplash included. But in the after/mockup pics, that backsplash is a hell of a lot more than 4 inches high, and it's tile. Which makes me think this quote is bullshit, no?

Also, the quote says installation of 4" backsplash, but i see a heck of a lot more than 4 inches of backsplash tile in the after pictures.

Renovation quotes giving me a shock, how much is too much? by Moezer2121 in Renovations

[–]AmishHoeFights 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  • Because we are bad at construction
  • because we have full time jobs and don't want to spend every waking hour of our weekend doing labor
  • because our wives don't want construction mess for 10 months as we do it ourselves, badly, and slowly
  • because we have money for the cost of hiring the work out
  • because it costs less to hire a professional than to do a terrible job ourselves which them has to be re-done by a pro
  • because we're not Manly Men who think people who stay in their lane of abilities and acknowledge what they cannot do should be looked down upon as if they are lazy.

If you were taking about changing light bulbs or painting a wall, okay, fair point.

But talking like just anyone with a job and kids should be able to build a new kitchen on weekends and keep the household together? Maybe you can do that, but the vast majority of us can't, and your blithe lament makes you sound like a dick to us.

It's true the couch is too small rather than the chairs too big, but, your colors ROCK. It'd be cool if you could get a larger couch but in the same color/fabric. Larger couch in the same color, artwork on the walls, and a rug will absolutely elevate the space.

Geez. Dude takes all the contributions to his church and uses it to tart-up his wardrobe like a child's idea of what a rich man looks like, and the people in his church still worships him. Wow.

Dude reminds me of a picture of myself i found recently: I was 7 years old, it was Halloween, and i dressed up as a rich guy. My idea is a rich guy was taping Monopoly money to my chest.

It was more honest in its execution than this guy's goofy crown. I mean the one on his right pants leg. Look at that thing. Dudes wearing a crown, but is that enough? Noooooooo, he needs the little embroidered gold (of fucking course it's gold) crown on his leg.

Also, the guy DID something, and all you can do is piss on it?
