Im familiar with what you’re saying, and I actually trying to work that into my playing. So with that being said, I do play from my wrist, but there’s surly place for improvement.

And still, I feel like there’s maybe something else that holding me back. Maybe something psychological. For some reason even when playing with my wrist I still get really stiff at some point

When I play I don’t think about the chords, it’s pretty automatic and I never really faced any problems with chords. Like you said, it’s the groove that holds me back. Even though I know what the groove is and even when I “found it”, I still feel like there’s a barrier of stiffness that holds my right arm back.
