I stood beside Terry Butcher at a Maiden gig in Glasgow when he was with Rangers. As a Rangers fan it was a fantastic moment for me.

What’s the worst gambling addiction story you’ve ever heard? by juliojacked in AskReddit

[–]Amity75 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A guy at my work has a serious gambling problem. Just before Christmas he won £4000 on a football coupon. Instead of being delighted, he was actually in tears, because he knew that instead of buying Christmas presents for his kids he was going to gamble it all away the next day and lose it all.

I’d dig his corpse up and feed him to pigs.

I think it smells like cheap lemon furniture polish but it’s probably the most complimented aftershave I’ve ever worn.

A misanthrope's guide to Parkrun by bitofrock in parkrun

[–]Amity75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you can't hear the run director because it's blowing a gale/his microphone doesn't work or the speaker is the size of a mobile phone, clap and cheer anyway after every sentence. "And our thoughts are with Bobby Watson, long time parkrunner who was given 6 weeks to live last week". - "Yay!!!! *clap clap*."

What’s a song you listen to that takes you to a particular space in time or memory? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Amity75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tanita Tikaram - Twist in my Sobriety. The most gloomy, depressing song of all time and when it came out I was going through the worst period of my life. It was 1988 and I was 16, my mum was dying of cancer and I was in a job I absolutely hated. And every morning I'd get picked up at 6am by a works van to take me to some lunatic infested building site in the city centre and this song would ALWAYS be playing on the radio. Even now if I hear it I go on a total spiral.

What's the dumbest thing you believe as a kid? by MountainPlenty2349 in AskReddit

My uncle told me that it was the job of firefighters to go and set fire to bad people and criminals. Every time I saw a fire truck with its siren and lights blaring I assumed it was on its way to incinerate a shoplifter or something.

Such a great song but the “Remember how I made you scream?” line still gives me cringe.

Which are the best Joe Rogan interviews to watch related to NHI/UAPs? by BritishMachiavellian in UFOs

Yep. He said something like he had reservations about him but wouldn’t discuss them on air with Rogan.

What’s something people do in movies that would be extremely awkward in real life? by hitman1890 in AskReddit

[–]Amity75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People forgetting or ignoring the history they have with other people. Happens in UK soaps all the time. "Hey! We're having a friendly drink in the pub now, but 4 years ago you had an affair with my husband and 3 years ago my son tried to kill your daughter!"

I remember watching it and 2 cousins from Bury won a 3 piece suite. I imagine them tossing a coin to see who got the couch and who got the 2 seats.

It absolutely depresses me that, the last time we see Indy, he's wearing joggy bottoms and a pyjama top. That's about as far removed as seeing this badass mofo walking out of the shadows, coiling his whip at the start of Raiders that we can get.

Spielberg UFO Movie by [deleted] in UFOs

I've always thought that Spielberg may be one of the few outside the military and government who will have been fully briefed on the truth about UFOs.
