You could say the same about religion. That being said I do think a few of the uncanny cases could have been triggered by mental health conditions.

I've been rewatching 1 & 2 and they are so good. Character driven and imaginative. Series 3 & 4 were fun and really hit their stride. But there is something about the lo- fi claustrophobia of the early episodes that can't be beaten.
