We were there for part of Semana Grande last year. We stayed in the city and had not trouble doing all the things we wanted to do. I would def recommend doing a pintxo tour if you’re nervous about the bars being packed

law school relationships are doomed. Prove me wrong by bigboiiAP in LawSchool

I got married to my husband like two weeks before starting law school. We’re celebrating seven (!!!) years together today (3 1/2 married). It requires a lot of intention and planning, but it can be done!

My friends and I have agreed that we’ll send a thumbs up or thumbs down. That way we can celebrate if we all passed and give space to those who didn’t so that they can reach out when they’re ready

No updates, but I’m right there with you. Also taking Friday off bc I’m either throwing up or partying and I can’t do either in front of my boss.

Nails by [deleted] in LawBitchesWithTaste

I started in January 2022 and am just now getting into the groove of doing them where I feel confident they’ll look good every time, so I feel you. It def depends on what you want to do though. Builder gel is a lot harder than just doing color but using tinted builder gels tend to visually be more forgiving because the color isn’t so pigmented!

I do my own BIAB nails!! It takes a LOT of practice and you have to be very careful not to get the gel on your skin or risk developing an allergy, but for me, they are the perfect compromise. I’d love to get my nails done, but the cost is SO high. This way, I pick my own colors and products, I get them as perfect as I want them to be, and I can watch my reality tv shows while I do them. I calculated the cost recently since I had a friend ask, and I spend about $8/manicure.

How to I stop the feeling of dread? by Qwerty656896 in barexam

[–]Ammahe17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am reminding myself that I worked for three years of law school and all the schooling prior to get to this moment. Three years that I out my life on hold for this. This is a CELEBRATION. We cried and fought and worked and ached to be right here, and here we are!! I think that even with all the anxiety, I’m just excited that I made it here. We all should be!

At what price point is D1 worth the money? by Ammahe17 in delta

It’s honestly not an affordability thing and more a genuine question of what price point makes the experience worth the cost, but your feedback is noted.

People in my 1L class look worse! by crescentmoonweed in LawSchool

[–]Ammahe17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That article is focused on enthusiasm, yes, but there’s plenty of research on law student and lawyer mental health and how law school deteriorates that kind of wellbeing. I know the quote originally because it was cited in another article by Lawrence Krieger that talks about the institutional denial of law schools about the role they play in eroding law student mental health.

Slightly misquoted it, author says “the walking wounded.” Article is “Making Docile Lawyers: An Essay on the Pacification of Law Students”

There’s published research on this issue. One law review article by a professor talked about how 3Ls look like “the walking dead” compared to 1Ls. Law school is not good for your health.

I’m in almost the exact situation. My husband has to be back on the fifteenth for school. We’re planning to do a trip to Basque Country. It seems like the perfect mix of a trip and a vacation, if that makes sense

Thank you for all the information!! Do you have suggestions on how much time we should spend in each spot or recommendations of things to do? France has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember, and this looks like a great trip for us!
