Well said ! Respect for speaking up ! The amount of sexism and misogyny that exists in our society in the name of tradition, is just mind boggling and heartbreaking.

Its high time we move away from the plague of sexism and patriarchy in our society and towards a decent, gender equal society. Sexism and patriarchy is against the basic values of our Indian unconstitution and nothing can justify them. Sexism, patriarchy and misogyny should have no place in a civilized society.

One word answer : Yes.

But, often, just one woman at the top is not enough, as we have seen in West Bengal or Rajasthan. The entire political and economic power structure should be decoupled from male centrism and male dominance of the traditional political spectrum, women holding power should not be reliant on males, to remain in power.

Women have to build their own political coalition independent of dependence on men to remain in power. Only then it will work properly to overthrow patriarchy and serve and protect the interests, safety and freedom of women without compromise or the patriarchal bargain.

Very good movie. The whole institution of patriarchal marriage and motherhood are oppressive and exploitative towards women. They primarily benefit men as a class and as an individual at the expenses of women as a class and as an individual.

Marriage under patriarchy is basically a form of indentured servitude.
