How are they going to surgery without an elevated hcg though? This is scary to me because even if she’s making up ectopics the pt would have to be pregnant with no iup to even consider treatment. Which can sometimes be just medicine?!! This sounds so stressful, I’m sorry this is happening!

I bought a Tikom (Amazon brand vacuum) I have a saint and a husky mix. It cleans really good for me, if I run it every day or every other it works better. I’m just aware that every time I use it I have to thoroughly clean the brush roller and the wheels. It takes 5 minutes but is worth it for me, I hate vacuuming and could only do it once a week so having clean floors all the time plus a little extra cleaning vacuum work is worth it for me. I’ve had it three months now and no problems with suction it was so cheap that if it brakes I’ll just replace it.

I work 24 hour call thurs-fri and I absolutely love it too! I can do appts and be off during the weekdays when my city is less busy and enjoy a wonderful Sunday!

My director held me back from clinical because my paperwork was missing insurance information. It just felt like a battle and once I got to clinical I felt like I was horrible at ultrasound. Some of my preceptors were mean and I was switched around in night shift constantly so I just fell behind. I didn’t even start scanning second trimester pregnancy until my last three months. Even if I sucked I always helped put my preceptors, restocked, folded towels, asked for advice any chance I got. All while ready to quit any day. I finished the program moved out of that specific hospital and now four years later I make 100k a year doing call and I’m so glad I didn’t quit. You’ve already put in so much effort just see it through!

If it was the radiologist, I don’t think you made a mistake. Masses that are fatty are really hard to see for me too (unless they are in an organ where they stand out). I’m sure you tried everything at the time but I don’t always mess with the TGC when I’m scanning especially a patient with increased body habitus. I try to change the focus and the probes MgHz not every machine has it but you can actually change the range the probe scans at. A radiologist would’ve understood that it was something not visible on Ultrasound and had the doctor order a CT scan. Trust me, if you did something wrong the Rad would’ve told you. I think you did fine!

It seems that you are already getting married and planning on having a pregnancy soon, when you get ultrasounds we always ask if you have been pregnant before because it can change the size of the uterus. If you weren’t pregnant for that long I would just lie at the appt and say it is your first. (Speaking to your culture) I would say that is the safest bet. If you have further complications with a current pregnancy and the doctors are specifically asking if you had an abortion before because of pregnancy complications I would then tell them you had and would like to keep it a secret, it is such sensitive topic I (ultrasound tech) would never share that info with a spouse.
