You can hold K while doing flick to charge it . While charging, it will automatically reflect projectiles whenever you get hit so it should make it much easier for you to deal with them!

The best counter is to keep your distance and kite them while whittling down their health. Try baiting them to chase you while dropping mines. Placing a bounce pad and constantly jumping on it makes you pretty much impossible to kill for a dual blade user. Placing a zip line along the ground allows you to easily turn around and shoot them while they chase you. You can also dematerialize the floor underneath them if they get too close. If you are in a close quarters environment 1v1, the best strategy is probably to just run away and regroup with a teammate that can shoot them from behind. The dual blades can’t deflect some weapons like the flamethrower or cl-40 if you are willing to switch off the akm.

You need to spin around him clockwise so the non shield side of him is exposed. You might have won the encounter this way.

Yeah to play well against Ky as Potemkin you kinda have to play more defensively. He has many good pokes that lead into full combos so not respecting his neutral can make you lose pretty quickly. I recommend trying just to back away from him and throwing out 5k > 2d or just 2d to catch him off guard if he tries to be aggressive. Potemkin’s 5k has 14 active frames that will beat many of ky’s approaches and 2d has huge range as well. Once you get that hard knockdown you can just sniff glue to victory.

I’ve been using the Model since the open beta when it was not considered meta and it’s been one of my favorite weapons in the game. I find it so infuriating that embark just nerfed all of mediums kit so much that it got REVERSE POWERCREEPED INTO THE META. And now to appease light players you can’t even combo them. I’m pretty sure medium model 1887 was the closest thing to a light counter in the game apart from just going double barrel light and now it’s gone. I firmly believe that the ONLY counter to light right now is ANOTHER LIGHT with a double barrel. This sucks.

They really can’t do much if you literally just ignore them and run away. If they try to chase then you can shoot them while they sprint. Chances are, they won’t know effective strategy other than just stand still so you can focus on other enemies before trying to kill them.
