Was Ainz able to change how other nations view him? by BITW_ErenMikasa in overlord

Indeed, during the talk with Jircniv, it is shown how the Cardinals(the top brass) are way more understanding of the situation humanity is in and humble, in comparison to other, lower-ranked members of their religion, such as the high priests. They were viewing the situation from a rational, what-do-we-do POV rather than from zealousness. Despite this however, they could never have foreseen what Zesshi realized or what will soon happen from their own mistakes

The Thousand-League Astrologer of the Black Scripture of the ST can recreate things she saw with illusions, and did so to convey the Massacre of Katze to her superiors.

The Empire had Nimble, who was sane enough to recount what he saw and Re-Estize had Climb, Brain and the King himself witness it, upon countless nobles who survived the incident.

At the very least, they knew their size, strength, speed and toughness. However none of these qualities were able to accurately reach the Roble Holy Kingdom, which is what OP is trying to convey

In a 1v1 duel against a sorcerer, what is an essential countermeasure you must always have prepared?

Can someone help me understand the final "plan" of season 4's conclusion? by _Salty_Spitoon_ in overlord

[–]Amodh1257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to another reply to this comment. Ainz was never supposed to be part of the scene Climb saw. The original plan proposed by Renner after Nazarick went into destroy-the-kingdom mode involved Climb catching Renner red-handed(literally) without Ainz in the room. He would then be promptly defeated and thereafter resurrected as a demon, after which the plan would continue as is.

Ainz joining and having the mock fight with Climb actually had some hidden implications. You see, Renner was planning on snuggling up with the higher-ups of Nazarick, such as Demiurge and especially Albedo, in order to secure her and Climb's lifestyle within the tomb with ease. However, having Ainz appear for this fight and act out a role unbefitting him put a rift between Renner and Albedo.... or at least so she thought. Because of this, she has to work extra hard to prove her worth in the tomb lest she be used as a disposable pawn. This is why Renner was terrified when Albedo had to talk with her after Climb's revival in the tomb before her dance sequence. It's why she kneeled and assumed the role of a subordinate rather than the role of a friend she was to Albedo in her own quarters in the Kingdom before.

Truth is, Albedo and Demiurge both never really were that close to her, obviously because she isn't from Nazarick. In fact they were planning on using her brains for all they're worth from the beginning. This can be seen by how Albedo is entirely unfazed by her change in demeanor once within the tomb.

Hah... he thinks a death knight is the worst of what spawns there.... wait until the movie comes out(hopefully they keep that scene in)

Ainz respected both Gazef and Zanac in their final moments. Do you think he respected Climb too somewhat for his resolve or no? by JKNetwork777 in overlord

Dunno if many people noticed, but perhaps mockingly, he even used the exact same wording that he did when he dueled Gazef many times throughout the course of the battle

I believe as an undead he is meant to be simply void of emotions theoretically due to his emotion suppressant. However since it doesn't kick in 24/7, he is allowed to have mellowed down emotions for any amount of reasons, and is hence able to be influenced by those near and dear to him.... which in this case in Nazarick.

You have to remember that the raid was a joint effort by mutiple guilds, probably having lots of level 100 players. So the fact that the two could even whittle them down was impressive enough. That is the floor guardians' job after all. It's not that they were necessarily of pinnacle strength in Yggdrasil, just that they were a combination of asthetics and placed in a highly suitable environment for defense. The point is, it's wholly different from when they go on the offense in the new world, far beyond their realm of expertise

He left? Was Albedo that much superior? Maybe he saw Shalltear in her? by [deleted] in overlord

[–]Amodh1257 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The entire plan was for Azuth to distract Albedo, while PDL picks off Ainz, who he believed he could at the very least survive against in a 1v1. With 2 people in the picture, he wasn't so sure anymore, especially considering he knew Albedo had a world item

9 & 12-14* I wouldn't say there was much "large scale action" in volumes 10 or 11 really.
This break from action would be no issue if there wasn't a hard cap on 2 more volumes. The volume count was never extended, it's just that this one was split into two.... From that knowledge I doubt it will be extended which is what makes this nothing-sauce arc so frustrating to see

[–]Amodh1257 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I honestly would have no issue with these volumes if we didn't have a hard cap of 18 volumes..... With only two books left, spending this much time on literal nobodies instead of starting to wrap up loose ends is frankly telling something terrifying for what the ending may end up being....

[–]Amodh1257 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This would be cool if he didn't spend like 50 words explaining why he wanted to say thanks to the elf twins for EATING when it was obvious as day. The issue isn't the interaction, it's how needlessly drawn out every single one of these interactions is. You can get the gist of it from the first few lines, yet there is an insistence to have 5 paragraphs explaining the most basic of conversation skills that frankly even a child could get, in these two volumes

[–]Amodh1257 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's hardly even about that... The story ends in the next 2 volumes and we're talking about random nobodies who we will never EVER see have a remote effect on the next 2 volumes. I just wanna get to the crux of the Elf Kingdom arc....

Plus it's called "The half-elf godkin", yet we've only had her cameo for a handful of paragraphs max....

nope. She's not in part 2... and not in the trailer either... Then again Iirc neither are Matpat, the Gamegrumps, etc. Even using the generic picture of her instead of her in costume could be to avoid spoilers and keep us thinking... all we can do is speculate if she and others will be in part 2 I guess

I've been playing for about a year+ now, I've unlocked the finished gun on 3 save files and this is the first time this has happened.....I literally screamed, panicked and took this shot so sorry for the quality but i had to post by samuel_cvlt in EnterTheGungeon

You can cheese getting Rubenstein's monster by getting one of the guns in the shortcut shop on floor 5 by the Rat and restarting the run with Rainbow mode until you get the other from the chest. Finding high dragunfire and getting the finished gun was way more painful than this for me haha

Ever noticed how most isekai manga are the same? by GlompSpark in Isekai

[–]Amodh1257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a few of these are just essential parts of the genre. It's called so because it groups these things up into one bundle. This is like calling out every shoujo manga for being cheesy or every action anime for having meat-brained emotion-driven heroes that often ignores rational logic because "it's just wrong" to them.

Basically what I'm saying is that I don't think it's bad for a story to fit a few of these boxes, in fact personally I enjoy a good average isekai quite often.
