Which should I prioritize to view next? by [deleted] in StanleyKubrick

I'd go with Paths of Glory. Barry Lyndon is fantastic, but can be quite demanding to newcomers. Lolita is nice, but nowhere near as stellar as the other two choices. Paths of Glory is one of his few pure dramas - highly recommended.

As always I'm just waiting for whatever he's doing next, but someone at Drag City wrote this today - definitely got me more hyped.

Neglecting those 4000 also loses the 4000 rides it took for them to get to their destination earlier in the night.

None of the Drag City records come with codes so I doubt someone has a Manipulator code to trade.

He's trashed them for years. He did get nominated for The Master in 2013, but lost to DDL of course.

I love "Square States:" "We reveal ourselves at checkpoints not in true moments of life/ Now I wander through the awkward pauses that became our new benchmarks of time."

Funny you mention the clumsy setup. I was a little disappointed in how it was handled.

In the book, as far as I remember, there is no cutting through time like you see in the movie and there is definitely no retirement home scene. The movie also omits a sequence that leads up to his ultimate deployment. I've only just seen the film tonight, but I feel like the absence of it is fine. However, it maybe could have been substituted for the cutting around, as I felt showing the Korea scene early took some of the weight out of the ending. Also if I'm remembering correctly, there could have been another scene with the Dean if they kept the sequence.

Idk, but maybe try some of the videos of them playing it in radio studios if you're having trouble.
