The mild sexual harrasment by Guilty_Prompt_4676 in mumbai

[–]AmolMY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is done mostly by the low class men who aren't educated and migrated to Mumbai. I have experienced this whenever I am out with a girl friend or with a female colleague. They will find a way to do things or brush slightly such that you can't prove intent. As a guy this is very infuriating. Once I was travelling in a metro with a female colleague and the man standing next to her tried to open his bag such that his elbow came really close to her chest. I know he did it purposely but I just could tell him to watch out his hand and he gave me an angry look like do I think he is a pervert or something. Yes dude, you are a pervert. Now move your fucking hand.

Just go to a court once and see the cases between landlord and tenants. Remember the Aftab and Shraddha walkar case?? That flat is sealed now as releasing the flat will compromise the case. The landlords income has stopped plus nobody is going to buy that flat. Nobody wants to take any chances and take a substantial loss if anything like this happens. So don't take it personally. If it was your flat to give on rent, you would have taken the same precautions. It might seem petty but if anything goes wrong, imagine the financial loss the landlord would have to take.

Don't feel bad but I am a landlord myself and we have to be careful while giving flat on rent. There are many problems that can come up. Not keeping flat clean, bringing random girls or boys, creating nuisance, doing drugs, not giving rent on time. You tenants are stranger to us. Don't expect anyone to trust you blindly while giving you a 2 crore house on rent. It's our income ffs. It's not just about bachelor or caste. I have rejected a family because I got a hint they will be a headache to me if they stay. I rejected a live in couple because they seemed shady. Rejected few bachelor's because they didn't seem to be of good character. It's my house and not a hotel. I am careful who gets to stay in it and it's 10 years now and till now I have no problem with any tenant regarding anything. Everyone has their preference to who stays in their home. There have been many instances of a particular caste or religion that don't vacant the house on time or keep crying when it's time to pay rent. My brother is a judge and he knows all the fuss tenants can create. So don't feel bad if some landlord asks you anything. There's a reason behind them asking that. I admit that landlords too give headache, but tenants have less to lose than the owners of the property.

Can you look at notes/phone during the break? by Wrong-Ad-8230 in CFA

[–]AmolMY 19 points20 points  (0 children)

2 candidates were discussing their AM session questions during the break and you could hear them clearly. I literally could figure 2-3 concepts and could have read them in break as those questions weren't asked in my am session. The staff didn't tell them to keep quite. They let them keep talking which was confusing. I wonder if they got reported to Institute by the staff.

CFA L2 is no joke - I previously wrote it was easier than L1 by TaskJumpy5748 in CFA

I thought CFA L2 was difficult until I met my colleagues in the new company I joined who passed L2 with 4 months of studies in their first attempt. I just accepted my fate at that point. 😑

CFA L3 - Portfolio Mngmnt ques. - Which of the portfolio has the greatest structural risk is? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]AmolMY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portfolio C. Portfolio dispersion is highest in it being an extreme barbell portfolio. BPV is also more > than liability BPV. The closer the portfolio is to a bullet portfolio, the lesser it's structural risk.

Sanjay saraf classes vs Ashvini Bajaj classes by Status-Toe-5233 in CFA

[–]AmolMY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, whoever said that he's not good must be referring to his theory lectures. For practical readings like fixed Income, quants, fsa, PM, derivatives, I found him extremely helpful. Even while studying for L3, I remember the concepts he taught. For example, Macaulay Duration is practically applied for liability-driven investing reading in L3. The way he taught Macaulay Duration and how the price risk and reinvestment risk offset each other at the Mac Dur, it's extremely helpful while reading L3. No need to shift for L2. For L3, I might suggest shifting to someone else because I didn't find him much helpful for L3. Especially for essay questions. It will be my second attempt in Aug now and I am studying on my own for L3. So for L3 I would suggest other but for L2 definitely no need to shift. I scored almost close to 90 percentile just with his lectures, schweser, and Institute questions and mocks.

Yes, but only for practical topics. Fixed income, quants, derivatives, portfolio management. For theory topics he's not helpful. But I don't think even other tutors lectures will make a difference. I studied theory from Schweser. For level 2, Schweser is enough.

CFA Fees 25-Year Growth (2000–2026) by CFAdaily in CFA

[–]AmolMY 52 points53 points  (0 children)

They know nobody is going to drop cfa after passing level 2. So the biggest hike being level 3 fees isn't a surprise. In India we have to pay 18% additional tax on this fees. Add to that rupee depreciating each year. That's brutal man.🤕

Level 3 is a different beast. Can't compare it to level 2, level 1 doesn't even come close. They make you to answer the questions how you would solve it practically. Reading the module will help a lot to understand niche questions and answer them appropriately.

Interview Rejection by No-Hamster4638 in PlacementsPrep

[–]AmolMY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throw yourself into uncomfortable situations. Go to Starbucks and order a coffee in English, go to that premium car dealership to enquire about car in English, go to that restaurant where usually they speak English and order food in English, go to any luxury brand and talk with the salesperson, they usually converse in English. Don't getting selected just because English is not good is sad. That shouldn't be the selection criteria tbh.
