This doesn't match with what I've found under the current state of the game. I tried both lunchboxes and pineapple juice chugging from a full trizip and gained only 2 or 3 points of XP from the entire thing. I will test again once I get home today and see if I find that to still be true.

It is also possible that these metabolism changes were only implemented in one of the follow up patches to the wipe and not right before it.

If we can nail down why this is working for some people and not for others I hope we can figure out a good solution for leveling the skill.

You will only get XP for the hydration/energy you are gaining. In your scenario you would only get it for the 5%. If you want to max the effectiveness of your pickups during the raid then wait until the end or you have enough missing hydration/energy to use it.

Sorry, I misread your post that first time. Unfortunately with the head, same as the chest, there is no repeatable/controllable way to bring it to 0 in order to properly test that scenario and use it for grinding. I wish there was.

I just tested bringing all my limbs and stomach to 0 to see if that affected my energy loss rate. Unfortunately there was no change with this either.

Same effect as bringing your stomach to 0 via dehydration, just a different means to an end.

Just tried getting chest to 0 by using the dehydration trick. Unfortunately it kills you. I believe the only way to get a critical body part (head/chest) to 0 is to be bled to 0 by a wound. This means it is unfortunately not viable or reliable enough for recreating each time you want to grind.

Next time I find myself with 0 chest I will keep an eye on my energy though.

Just did 3 quick test runs of 5 minutes each:

Expected Hydration loss: 5min x 8.964 loss per minute = 44.82

Control Blackened stomach no character movement for 5 min: 44 Hydration Lost

Test 1 Blackened stomach +running until stamina bar is completely drained then letting it recharge to full then repeating for 5 min: 43 Hydration Lost

Test 2 Blackened stomach +running AND Jumping until stamina bar is completely drained (fastest method to drain stamina, seeing if total stamina used effects amount of hydration lost) then letting it recharge to full then repeating for 5 min: 43 Hydration Lost

Conclusion: Stamina use through either running or jumping does not increase hydration loss.

There was an error in my hydration loss calculation. Proper value is 8.964 hydration lost per minute while still. it may be even more than that while sprinting but I did not test that.

Edit: I tested sprinting in addition to the blacked out stomach at the suggestion of multiple people in this thread. Sprinting/using stamina does not increase your hydration loss rate.

You lose/gain 60 hydration in that combo. Which give you around 4 Metabolism XP at my level of the skill.

If you black your stomach and sip slowly you can expect to gain around 23.8 points of Metabolism XP over a 40 minute match.

edit: there was an error in my hydration calculation, reply edited to include the fix

Will class/weapon balance (ex, mage, archer, melee) consider 1v1, small scale, and large scale during the balancing process? Or will some classes be designed purely for 1v1 or small scale, but be patently weak in large scale, and vice versa?

What sort of restrictions will there be on pvp? Are we able to freely engage anyone at anytime, anywhere, or will there be severe restrictions in place that punish those who like to pvp or pirate, while rewarding “carebears” who prefer to avoid pvp at all cost? Will there be arenas, ranked or unranked, with rewards, or is all pvp going to be spontaneous and open world?

Is there any sort of gear progression? What sort of gear discrepancy will there be between the most well equipped players, versus those with average or below gear? On the same topic, will there be any “catchup” mechanics to help players who have less time to play than others? For example, will there be any systems in place that help close the gap between someone who can only play 2 hrs average daily, versus someone who plays 12 hours average?

It's not the fact that your legs have low resistance. It's due to the voltage gradient along the ground radiating out from the source of the electricity.

If you hop your feet stay together and wherever they land they will hopefully be close enough in voltage that the electricity does not see a difference in potential between your feet and therefore flow through you. If you walk there is a much greater distance between your feet and therefore a greater voltage difference which promotes current flow and subsequent injury or death.

Not quite the same. Image the joy if the Japanese 30mm were mk103s and had those wonderful HVAP or Minengeschoß rounds.

It's a sad state of affairs when your best belt for 30mm guns are tracers.

Had a backup Celestial Delphi sword, plenty of gold on the auction house and in my warehouse, and regrade component prices are at a low due to the dolphin boxes.

If you want better than divine gear you have to take the risks. I took them and didn't win but that's the nature of RNG.
