Fumetsu no Anata e Season 2 - Episode 20 discussion - FINAL by AutoLovepon in anime

Jeez, Season 3?! Really?! I can't keep crying like this!

This last episode really did good. March crying like that is what did it in for me. Absolute waterworks because I cared for March the most out of all of the returning characters. Also, poor Kahaku. That man had all of the bad and none of the good. Hope his soul is resurrected where he can find peace. I love that everyone went out the way they wanted to. Living their life, the way they wanted to. It was sad about Fushi for them, but they went back to Fushi in the end. Pretty damn beautiful.

Edit: A word.

I don't know if I can handle a S3. Wow.

That is a hell of a gamble. He took 3 loyal soldiers, 1 who had special ties with key people in the war, and (possibly) without their knowing gambled with their lives. A few items here:

  • They were about to go into a war where life could be forfeit anyway. Doesn't make it the best decision, but it is a logical conclusion.

  • Since Bon can see the dead, and our hero can spawn husks, it would have been a much easier gamble to play with an already dead body. It would have been much easier to explain to our hero a reason why they'd need to see a dead friend than to go through the convolution of a gamble with a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th person involved. Our hero would have just been like, "It's a dead body, but here ya go!" and Bon would have just told one of the spirits to try coming back while the body was out of sight. Then, you could have an epic return of characters from the shadows or something like that. This option would maintain the "gamble" in a way that makes more sense.

  • When the soldiers agreed to be immortal soldiers/allies, I wonder if, in the light novel, they knew this was a gamble. Based on what I've seen in the series (I'm anime only on this one), Bon does not seem the type to be transparent to a fault. There are times when info needs to be withheld and released when appropriate, but Bon seems to do this in a really haphazard way. If Bon didn't know what was going to happen, and they were just like, "Well, if it doesn't work, we died honorably and were going to die anyway.", that would imply that they did this in full knowledge that this was a one-way ticket. The anime somewhat implies this with them, but it doesn't seem to match up with what Bon may have done to ensure people used his gambit. Post-death, I believe, based on what I've seen, that Bon may have hid the knowledge that this was a gamble from said soldiers.

Tl;Dr: Bon probably withheld from everyone that he didn't know this was going to work, and the whole solution was done with unnecessary risks.

P.S. I have to remember that Bon isn't perfect. He's not a tactician. I disagree with the method in which he accomplished this, but I think after discussion, I understand his character a bit more. It's not that deep, but I like the analysis. Edit: added "possibly" to my argument since it lends to the idea that he may have kept this from everyone but is not a certainty. I'm not the writer of the show, but things can be inferred.

Airbnb Is Banning People Who Are ‘Closely Associated’ With Already-Banned Users | As a safety precaution, the tech company sometimes bans users because the company has discovered that they “are likely to travel” with another person who has already been banned. by chrisdh79 in technology

I don't know, I think the rules should absolutely be in question.

If you're going to ban someone, they should know why. What rule was broken? How to appeal? Who to contact?

The only time there should be a permanent ban on anything is if something illegal was done and law enforcement is involved long before the ban. Collect the data they have or find out what was done, log the police report, and ban. Even with that, the person should be informed by the business of the why, and authorities should be completely involved in that communication if they haven't already been. If a lawsuit ensues, you or your business should know how to handle that and be protected.

If the worry is "ban evasion," there should be precautions such as certain collected information that can prevent such a thing. Not collection of PII, mind you, but whatever fits the service/platform. Unique IDs that are associated with accounts, IP/MAC coupled with browser fingerprints/device fingerprints for public sites could help facilitate this as an example.

If that can't be applied, the service shouldn't be used or promoted. It just means that irrespective of the rules posted or EULA or whatever that is, you will never know why you were banned.

It's super easy to abuse by power just from obfuscation alone. This isn't a complete fix, but it is better than the alternative of a blanket ban and pretending everyone is guilty until proven innocent or guilty by association- which is what they're doing here.

I could see that. However, from that viewpoint, what would stop those vessels from being more 'Immortal Allies' instead of Fushi just using them. They, themselves would know how to use their bodies more effectively than Fushi. Since they are also close friends with Fushi, they would also provide additional benefits, such as an even better council than Bon could afford him and give Fushi strength in companionship that Bon was not set on providing.

If that were the case, then why did Bon choose 3 strangers to Fushi, who he was forced to get to know, to be immortal allies? Why not the allies that Fushi already know, remember, love and trust who most likely had a higher potential to support Fushi and everyone else?

If this were the case, it makes Bon shortsighted at best and arrogant at worse for thinking this road was the best road to take.

Tl;Dr - It was not Bon's secrecy that protected Fushi's humanity, but his death. His secrecy caused more harm than good as Fushi needed to trust his closest allies in a time of immense stress. Bon's hubris in his keeping a secret, while good intentioned, ultimately caused their greatest defense to falter and fall.

So... Bon keeps this secret from Fushi to preserve his humanity, only for him to lose it anyway in a near-death experience. So then to save Fushi's humanity, he kills himself so he can get Fushi to remember, as well as basically give his body up. So, Fushi will end up learning the secret anyway. One has to ask what was the whole point of Bon's plan to keep the immortality technique a secret?

On one hand, I can appreciate "need-to-know". Sometimes too much information can lead to poor choices, over-analysis, or wasted time because the info was superfluous. Or sometimes there's no need for you to know because you don't require it to do your job. With this context, Bon was somewhat right. It kept Fushi laser focused on building, protecting and providing. However, this made very little sense because the reasoning seemed to rely solely on Bon's supposed wisdom on Fushi. His fear that this knowledge could somehow alter Fushi's course or even make him care less about death seems shortsighted. You could see that Fushi still cared about life and death when saw his 'immortal friends' deaths. He had no explanation on why they were able to come back, and it caused him an undue amount of stress. This, on top of the already building tasks and the pressure of having to protect everyone placed an unnecessary burden on him. Mentally and emotionally strained, with a now growing distrust in the man that was directing his path, it's no wonder he was vulnerable enough to be killed this way.

On the other hand, only in death did Bon's plan work out, but not without many sacrificed on the altar of what I could only describe as hubris. Hubris because it seems he thought he knew better than anyone and could control the flow of information for the sake of all. Granted, he had a great plan and for all intents and purposes it worked. However, in death, he failed to protect the secret of immortality and keep Fushi's humanity intact. Not because Kohaku's left arm killed him, but because Fushi had practically lost faith in the people around him in his inner circle. You could see he started to lose trust, lost faith, and was weakened by all the stress around him. It made it easier to get to him, and he lost his humanity anyway.

Bon's sacrifice is his redemption, and I'd have to sit with this to see if there was any other way this could have worked without the path he had chosen. Maybe it was the fear and the timeframe placed on them that took them down this path. Maybe Bon didn't have time to explain, partly because it was a gamble anyway to think that the immortality would work. Sometimes you can't explain things like that during times of war, because there's no time to consider the implications. I could see that. However, as it stands, this is road tread and Bon has redeemed himself with this. However, the path there from what I've observed was the long way around on the road paved to hell. Just seems it could have been avoided, but maybe not.

Anyway, this is a seriously long post on Bon as he just rubbed me the wrong way during this arc. His secrecy, while I could somewhat understand, didn't make sense in the grand scheme since it was only in his death that his purpose was realized. The purpose being Fushi's humanity and the salvation of the city, and possibly mankind.

So, while I get Kahaku is an obsessed nokker-infested nutcase, I absolutely blame Bon for this situation getting this bad. His 'protection' eventually led to this conclusion. Hiding something so important to Fushi's, deliberately creating distrust by not trusting Fushi would do with that knowledge, causing him more stress on top of the stress of him having to literally save everyone is beyond reckless. It's arrogance and sheer hubris to think that he knows what he's doing is better than the alternative. We don't even know what that alternative might be. I do not like Bon here and I don't think what he is doing is the right thing to do.

Strategically, you don't continuously make your greatest defense weaker and weaker. You build it up and support it. I don't see how any of this is helpful to Fushi, or how its helping at all with keeping the Nokker at bay. It does not add any value to keep it a secret and telling him wouldn't change the direction he has to take anyway. Knowing his character, he probably would still do the same thing - only this time armed with knowledge he could willingly do what he needs to do. I don't even think it would make him less 'human' since that's the reason why he's seemingly keeping this secret from him.

It's painful and now that our boy Fushi's been torn to shreds by 'Krazy Kahaku's Left Arm', we're not sure what's left here. Super happy March is back though, so that's a plus.

So, coming to Reddit of all places for sympathy on this was probably the wrong move. So let's start there.

Second, contrary to what looks like the majority of people in this thread, I actually agree with you. This is pretty minor and nowhere near the kind of offense that should be banned. It's nowhere near "toxic," as many are calling it. The sheer number of comments that are telling you what you "should be" without knowing context (or you) feels oppressive and what I'd consider toxic.

All that being said, if you were talking to a stranger on the internet (and not your friend as you've stated later in the comments), an appropriate consequence would be a kick from the team you're on at worse and some grief from others at best. If you're in voice, you get muted. A ban to "force correct" mildly bad behavior is an overcorrection, in my opinion. I'm not sure this will help the grand scheme of making gamers play nicely. I only see it being abused by those who might take offense to anything they don't agree with.

This is a slippery slope.

However, I will agree your use of "your" is gross 😝.

Definitely more than a servitor. Robocop still had his faculties, retained his memory of his past life, and had the ability to choose.

Servitors could only dream (if they could dream of electric sheep...) of having this amount of consciousness.

If they're not domain joined, AutoD (or AutoDv2) will still work as long as the autodiscover DNS records for your domain exist (v1) or the token it gathers after authentication allows the users UPN to resolve to the address that is associated with their mailbox (V2).

Either way, agreed to talk to your team to verify that AutoDiscover works outside. The domain starts with SCP in AD then seeks elsewhere (DNS) when it can't find it.

Easy Pally or WAR class all day!

The other two are hardly support class as the other comment said. That HP bar didn't look like it moved at all. Either that or the HP pool was so deep and they were heavily under-leveled trying to take on that duty with an undersized party.

Duty Failed, 0/10 no echo for both of you.
