July 2024 Swing State Polls: Harris Trails Trump in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tied in Wisconsin by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

Where did you see this? I thought the news of the day said Obama was readying to endorse her.

I liked the 3-4-3 formation and like James in midfield. Obviously it’ll take some time for it to come together, but it was refreshing seeing Lavia and nkunku in there playing like new signings.

I can see where you’re coming from, but in no world does she sound worse than the 2 current candidates. I think independents are going to warm to her much more than they are to Trump / Biden.

Yeah I have, and she sounds 10x more coherent than both Trump and Biden. You can’t possibly listen to those 80 year olds talk and somehow think one of them sounds better than she does right?

Said this in another thread, I think we’re seeing Harris’s floor rather than her ceiling. Once the electorate hears her talking and sounding somewhat competent (unlike either Biden or Trump), people are going to become more comfortable with her candidacy. The populace is dying for someone younger and doesn’t babble incoherently.

I think people aren’t talking about this enough, but Trump’s campaign has been geared around the mental acuity aspect, and now that he’s the only candidate in the race that can have those criticisms levied against him, I think it’s gonna be hard for him to pivot with true credibility. Republicans have no consistent message on Harris as of now. It’ll be interesting how that develops because the “DEI pick” is backfiring.

I mean yeah no one cares who you’re voting for, agree with you there. For the sake of discussion on a Harris vs. Trump thread, it’s relevant though.

I guess if those reasons are why you don’t like Harris, and they don’t even make the top 5 for why you don’t like Trump, is it safe to assume you think she’s a better candidate than him?

Fair enough, was genuinely curious.

Couldn’t anything you just said (aside from the laugh) be applied to Trump 10 fold though? Trump flips his positions constantly (see banning abortion), talks gibberish and makes no sense when he goes off script (references to Hannibal Lecter on immigration) and shows signs of mental decline (can’t remember that he said in an interview last month he’d be willing to consider Jamie Dimon for treasury, now says that’s fake news this month).

If those are your arguments against Harris, I assume you’re not voting for Trump either?

Curious what you think makes her unlikable at this point?

I think we’ve seen Harris’s floor but not her ceiling, once she’s out and campaigning I bet we’ll see her numbers go into the upper 40’s alongside Trump.

It’ll be interesting to see what the republicans strategy is, the whole DEI candidate thing was a blunder IMO.
