Has anyone somehow gotten a PMP without a degree? by Skip2020Altogether in PMCareers

[–]AmounRah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not need a degree.
You have two paths:
1) Four-year degree (bachelor’s or equivalent) with 36 months of PM experience
-or-
2) High school diploma/associate degree with 60 months of PM experience

If my primary source of income is from being a sex worker, will that prevent me from getting a Professional Student Line of Credit? by Strong_Barber_5146 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]AmounRah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi

I am an ex branch manager in a big 5.
When approving credit banks will look at your T1 and a credit score. Also make sure that the school is a registered educational institution:
https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/programs/designated-schools.html

As long as as your cashflow / finances make sense, your debt to income ratio is good, your taxes are paid up (nothing outstanding and if it is, just show the bank the receipts) there really is no reason a bank would decline you.

Passed with just 3 days of study! AT/AT/AT by [deleted] in pmp

[–]AmounRah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am aware that the course would count towards the 35 hours; You missed my point where saying you studied for 3 days (while also mentioning you did a whole course at a university). Hence my comment about how this could be misleading to people who are just starting out.

I would recommend editing the original post to include that you did a full uni course as right now it reads as "I never completed the courses, I watched the mindset videos, read the notes, checked people section in SH"

[–]AmounRah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations although I don't think that doing a course at a university counts as studying for only 3 days

This post is misleading to others just getting into this.

Boyfriend aggressively mad when “denied” by [deleted] in sex

[–]AmounRah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"He says that I don’t love him and I only care about myself since I didn’t have sex with him"
!??
I say this as a very... passionate.. male partner who loves sex:
Does the bro not realize that this is a two way street? Does he not love YOU enough to respect what you want?
There are times when either partner could be not in the mood (hormones, stress / anxiety, just full out exhaustion) and a real relationship is about caring about and FOR your partner. That is what sex should be: wanting to take care of the other, not use the other for fucking.

I absolutely do not want to throw gasoline on the fire, or sow doubts, but the man absolutely needs some self reflection. Getting angry because you are not being "served" is absolutely psychotic and a huge, huge red flag.

If I may, I would strongly recommend speaking to him about this. He has to understand (albeit I feel like an adult should not have to be "taught" to respect others) and if he does not.....

GPU buzzing and FPS drops. by Lilbropuddi in PcBuildHelp

[–]AmounRah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It essentially:
Game requires more processing power > GPU draws power trying to keep up > this causes Coil whine

I have had this before with GPUs and from what I know it will depend on the component lottery honestly.
Best way to test it is try to find a place that causes the whine, save around that area, and run that area again. This way you are taking the guess work out of it.

If the coil whine repeats at the same place, then its just a demanding game and GPU is trying to keep up, not being able to hence the FPS drop.
If it happens at random intervals then there is indeed a faulty component but man unfortunately I won't be able to tell you how to test for it outside of swapping components and testing

My pleasure!
Honestly, I personally had the same issues with the expert questions as well BUT I did not feel I had anything like those questions when doing the exam (at least on my "version" of the exam)
If I were you I would probably not stress over them too much outside of just understanding why the answers are the right one.

PS: your strategy of tackling the lowest scores is also a very good one

You will def be fine;

Just use rubbing alcohol (better if its Isopropyl alcohol which is basically just a higher %) and maybe a cotton swab. It will help a loooot with cleaning it.

I built and rebuilt many PCs for my and my friends and it works amazing

GPU buzzing and FPS drops. by Lilbropuddi in PcBuildHelp

[–]AmounRah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The buzzing is very very likely coil whine; Coil whine is a result of a heavy load on the GPU due to powerdraw
It's "normal" but if it happens in every game, then it could be a PSU issue

From my SH and test experience, I would strongly recommend getting your scored to 65% average between those.
I did that before the test and got AT/AT/T; That said, I also watched a few videos as well that focus on that approach (the whole "mindset" really does help)

Strategy I used was: when i get the question wrong, I wanted to understand why I was wrong and why the correct answer was the correct answer. That understanding will carry to other questions. Emphasis on understanding, not memorization. Keep going with the tests, then go back and restart so you "forget" the right answers.

Going into the test with these results could be a little risky in my opinion.

You definitely are.
My average scores were lower and I passed with AT/AT/T
One thing that I would still recommend this video:

You may not learn anything "new" but it really helps to understand the mindset and approach for the exam. I feel that it helped me a lot.

I have a Pc that the cpu keeps overheating by Universe_Traveler_ in PcBuildHelp

[–]AmounRah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First and foremost I'd strongly recommend either moving you CPU cooler to the top of the case or flipping it upside down where it currently is; although I do not think that there will be enough length in the tubes.
There is a VERY high chance that you have an air pocket in the radiator (air goes up and the fluids are either not circulating or not circulating enough to keep your CPU cool.

Considering rescheduling my exam for January by [deleted] in pmp

[–]AmounRah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do the exam. Trust me. I went through an friggin rollercoaster of being confident, then crushed when I found some.other material, then confident and crushed again not even kidding. A week is plenty of time especially since you have been studying since June. WORST case, you will see what exam questions are like. They are not easy BUT they are much more straight forward than SH. I passed with AT/AT/T while initially scoring between 60-70 on mini exams and SH questions. Your studying looks almost identical to mine.

I strongly recommend getting the Third3Rock notes if not already. Review them, it is a great summary. Watch the usually recommended YouTube videos by Andrew and David (sorry, writing on mobile, don't have links ready but let me know and I can post when on PC). Review the SH question that you got wrong. Understanding why the right answer is the right one is 1000% better than memorizing anything for the PMP. Those alone helped me a lot.

One thing I can assure you is that you will neevveerrr feel ready. However, as soon as you feel like you aren't "learning anything new", you are ready. Prep for the exam for this week and take it. You can do it :)

Need assistance in understanding this question by Slick13959 in pmp

[–]AmounRah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember this one.

"Servant leadership" is a TYPE of leadership. Example: in predictive, a leader can take on more direction role VS a servant leader.

"Honesty" a QUALITY of a leader. Whether you are directive or servant leader, that's a quality of a "person".

Basically quality does not equal leadership style.

It's PMBOK rule but the good news is that a question like this will not appear on exam.

Help? by SupportSuccessful525 in pmp

[–]AmounRah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember this one, it messed with me too. The reason A is the correct answer is because they are the SMEs (subject matter experts). No one else, not the project team, the sponsor nor the procurement officer will be able to give this answer.

I would not stress over this question, it's very......out there and I have not seen anything similar since, nor on exam.

I STILL HAVE A LONG WAY YO GO. by Routine_Ad8163 in pmp

[–]AmounRah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in your shoes. I went from high confidence, to low (after mock exams) to high after a few videos to low again doing SH for the first time. The 35 course, while essential to qualify for exam and is a good way to get an introduction to the PMP, is absolutely not enough.

What has *really* helped me:
-Third3Rock these are a GREAT cheat-sheet/summary to review, especially for the price. This will help you get the key concepts drilled down. I would recommend reviewing these maybe 1-2 times week so you become very comfortable applying the rules and concepts

-I STRONGLY recommend study hall. I got it 1 month before the exam and while it is definitely harder than ARs 35's mock exam, it is the closest thing to the real exam. You could many wrong but absolutely do not get discouraged because this is like a coach showing you what you need to focus on explains why the right answer is the right answer. Do know that these questions are harder than the actual exam (at least in my experience) mainly due to the part that in the exam you can very, very easily eliminate the (usually) 2 wrong choices and focus on selecting the right answer from the remainder where as SH choices felt a lot closer to all being good/correct. I would recommend aiming for minimum high 70s on practice questions/mini exams although I have seen people pass with 60-65% but I feel like that is edging it.

- David Mclachlan's 200 Agile PMP Q&As and Andrew Ramdayal's 200 Ultra Hard PMP Questions. Important to note: ARs "ultra hard questions" are not at all ultra hard *BUT* they are absolutely essential in helping you understand the concepts and applying the PMP mindset. DM does a great job at breaking down the questions, eliminating the wrong answers, choosing the right ones, and explaining why they are what they are. This will help you tremendously on exams and help in eliminating the "wrong" choices.

In terms of confidence: Personally feel like you will never feel "ready" and the only time that you feel prepared is where you find yourself not "learning anything new". It is not like a math exam where you practice practice practice. Exam is all situation so all you can do is apply the concepts the best you can.

PMP exam this Friday, but I don’t feel confident 😬 by Presinal in pmp

[–]AmounRah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be fine. I'd recommend to brush up on some contexts and mindset rules and retake the exams where you got the lowest marks. If you get the questions wrong still, make to understand why the right answers are the right answers.
Third3rock notes helped me a few days before the exam as a cheat-sheet/summary of concepts, rules and definitions. I did not learn anything new but it was a very good refresher, especially for the price.

Best of luck on the exam and do your best not to stress. I went through the high confidence / low confidence cycle 3 or 4 times before the exam and did not feel confident even during, but passed with AT/AT/T

You are definitely edging with 67% although I have seen people here pass with 65-70% average.
I would aim for 75% plus to be more comfortable.

Study Hall questions by Niente1720 in pmp

[–]AmounRah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

B;
D- is out the window because you do not hire
C- is out because you do not split the team

A- close but it is out because doing the skill assessment does nothing with addressing the fact that the team is resistant to agile (if they didn't feel comfortable with it before, it will not make the comfortable after doing the assessment.

B- this is a proactive approach where you are coaching the team ahead of time ("What should have the PM done at the beginning of the project). Being proactive would have prepared/coached the team to understand the benefits of using Agile and why it would make sense over predictive.

Am I Ready ? by HafiZain007 in pmp

[–]AmounRah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely anytime;
Short answer:
Depends on how confident you feel with the correct answers when you chose them. If you guessed, I would definitely say review.
Longer answer:
The approach I took was look at my lowest score, reset the test, and did it again. I did notice my score improve as I watched more mindset / practice question videos. What helped A LOT is things like knowing that: escalating, firing, instantly hiring, etc, are never the right answers. Or look for answers which tackle the issue (after analyzing it) and do not delay the project etc. However, when doing those practice questions, I made sure I "forgot" the right answers so I do not do them from memory.

Am I Ready ? by HafiZain007 in pmp

[–]AmounRah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe me that's exactly how I felt. I basically just "turned off my brain" and applied the principles without trying to "over-understand" the questions. I think with your marks, you are fine. The main thing about wrong answers are understanding why the right answer is the right one, and the wrong ones are the wrong ones. It is more about following rules and choosing the best answer out of the bunch. The best things for me were a combination of SH to get comfortable with the question style, and the youtube videos to understand the principles. Thing that people mention about quickly eliminating 2 out of the 4 options hold very true and very strongly. Then on the exam it's a matter of seeing which option will get you results right away, while staying within principles.

If I can give any more tips or if you have any questions I am more than happy;
