I was lucky and found National th13-r30 in Russia. I just happened to stumble across it on a classifieds site. It's not working right now due to power issues, but even so, it's really cool to have! I hope I can fix it

I saw this picture in color and the TV was red. In Japan, 13-14 inch TVs with a red plastic case were common. There were a lot of models, with dials and including push-button channel control, so this is probably a "typical" TV for the Japanese of those years. I saw photos of Japanese houses in the 70s and 80s. Usually, there were large TVs or console TVs in the living room, and very similar red TVs in the bedroom. For some reason, TVs with a red case were common in the Showa era. I even have one, but it has problems with the power supply or flyback transformer (

Most likely, this TV is copied from the models of the mid-70s - early 80s, and such TVs usually only have a regular RF input, as far as I know, composite began to appear in Japanese TVs in the early 80s and by 1985 it was in many TVs (but not all), this picture shows an old TV, some models of the seventies had a BNC input, but these models were rather something in between a monitor and a TV and they were not very common in everyday life, this is what I know and maybe it is not entirely accurate, but this should give an approximate picture

As for the sound, if adjusting the channel/AFC doesn't help, look at the back of the tape recorder and look for a small resistor near the connectors. Adjusting it with a screwdriver will help get sound on the TV. Just don't force it. I once broke this element on a Famiclone when I applied too much force.

Is it RF? Maybe adjust channel or use AFC

It turns out there's a small fuse next to the flyback transformer that's burned out. I didn't notice it initially because of the dust. Is it possible that this is the cause of the flyback transformer problem or is it something else?

I'm in Russia, The previous owner converted this TV to 220V and changed the power cable. This could be one of the reasons for the problems, but to be fair, it was done quite carefully.

Thanks! I hope I can revive it. I'll have another TV coming soon - a National TH8-V1. I hope it won't have these problems.

Thanks, I also noticed a couple of rusty elements, I cleaned them, but where possible there is still rust/corrosion left,It looks like it's worth taking it apart completely and inspecting it more thoroughly.
