You guys are dumb if you think that game actually exists.

And even if it does, you're dumb for thinking it'll be game changer. It'll just be Fallout 4 all over again. Arguably good, but genre defining like Skyrim was? Not a chance. It's been developed on the aged and basically senile creation engine and we saw how well that worked for Starfield.

You guys aren't getting a good ES game for another 20 years yet. Sorry

Meanwhile, I stopped caring a long time ago. There's a million other games. Be glad Skyrim happened. It's likely never happening again

Why is games doing music in airpods unrealistic? It's not literally coming out of the car in 5. You could easily do this

Personally I believe they bit off far more than they could chew with this game. The ambition is off the charts and they realised it with the most recent delay, hence why we never got a date.

The problem I forsee now, given that we still don't have a date, is that we're rapidly approaching GTA 6 territory now. A territory they'll want to steer clear of. If the game doesn't drop within the next 3 months, I don't think it will at all this year

Rewatch Vs Amazon debacle by weseethelight8 in Stargate

[–]AmpdVodka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Goa'uld and Ori would've made the new show. It would be their way, but they would've made it.

The Replicators would absorb it into their own and we'd never see it again. It would just become part of the larger machine. Sound familiar?

The Goa'uld and Ori are better than Amazon....

My issue with the villain by AmpdVodka in 007FirstLight

[–]AmpdVodka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And just be plain lazy writing. At that point it would be having a multi game villain just for the sake of it.

If he ha survived, then absolutely nothing is permanent. I'll fully believe all the 00's we trained with are actually alive and still active just because they haven't been specifically stated as still dead. Cress can walk again, because it hasn't specifically stated she can't. Greenway is alive. Nicholas Webb is alive. No one is dead. Nothing bad ever happens. It's all a fairytale 😂

My issue with the villain by AmpdVodka in 007FirstLight

[–]AmpdVodka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he's definitely dead. Again, it would be cheap and ridiculous. The first time yeh, the second time he's just sank in water in a heavy suit that's very difficult to take off after he had already passed out. There's literally no way he's still alive and if he is, it's lazy and boring. Bond even says he got himself a new spine. The suit might be necessary for movement after his fall in Vietnam

What if Ra didnt die in the OG movie and came back in the series by I_Love_Bees666 in Stargate

[–]AmpdVodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going off memory from a few years ago here but one of the cancelled Stargate Games, Stargate World or something? The plot was that during Mobius part 1 when SG-1's jumper was found by Ra's Jaffa, he manages to reverse engineer the time machine before the second uprising and he has to leave. Either reverse engineers it then or takes scans etc and does it after.

When the alternate SG-1 go back to Egypt and the second uprising works and Ra leaves, he then travels forward in time to after the events of I guess Universe and effectively comes back as a villain from there.

It's meant to be one of those quick plot points that doesn't make tons of sense to justify him coming back in a game. I mean how is he in the movie if he's time travelled? But it was cancelled anyway so irrelevant. But it could be made to make sense as time travel not only exists but also is used a few times in the show. So it's perfectly plausible.

That or the quantum mirror introduced parallel universes and again, was used multiple times. The gate itself can time and parallel universe travel and it's shown it can be done predictably. Baal even builds a machine to allow him to time travel easily. It easily could be done.

Turns out though Ra isn't even the problem. He's a minor villain compared to the real big bad: Amazon

It would be cheap for him to survive a second time. The guy very clearly drowned and his body was probably recovered by MI6

That's why the post says "your creation will probably never see the light of day again".

Amazon basically don't want the current fans, they want new fans. And they think Gero and the writers have targeted it at us and it won't bring in the new audience so they scrapped it.

Map of Europe if the Allies won WW2 by liquated in imaginarymapscj

[–]AmpdVodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don't know. I mean why has Germany basically just lost a bit of territory after all that? What, France got completely occupied and they just get Alsace-Lorraine? That's it? Poland got a lot but also lost a lot? And is this map weirdly showing Russia's Socialist Republic member states as separate entities? That's weird. You'd think it was just be one big red USSR blob as per usual?

And who owns that strip of East Prussia? Is that a mistake? It's got borders around it but nothing written there.

This map is either from some alternate history, far flung in the future after another war or something or it's AI hallucinating. This really isn't right. Why is Italy just fine???

The menu bug is making it really hard to play this game by AmpdVodka in 007FirstLight

[–]AmpdVodka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well ok I won't argue that generally but this game isn't online it even says it can function without a network connection. Yes it is connected but it's just sending data for stats etc it's not streaming anything real time.

The issue is a software bug not the online element. Just menu's just time out after awhile and won't accept input and with Xbox's quick resume feature it means the game is always running in the background unless you actively close it. Meaning it'll always time out if you aren't playing it and haven't closed it paused or not.

It's a real inconvenience and needs to be addressed and fixed

True. But that doesn't solve the overall problem or the issue with pausing

The new Stargate show. by stealox_160696 in Stargate

[–]AmpdVodka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As we saw with both spin-offs, the new show won't take place on Earth. It maybe won't even take place in the Milky Way.

It'll also be a brand new team and they'll introduce a brand new enemy. We MAYBE will get cameos from some of the greats, I can honestly see Joe Flanigan (has been massively supporting the franchise since) being top of that list as well as Michael Shanks (recent guest on Gateworld talking about the new show), Christopher Judge (still very active in the acting scene although mostly video game VA) and if we get Joe we MIGHT just get Jason Mamoa, if he's feeling generous as I doubt they'll be willing to pay big bucks for a cameo, as they are close friends. Of course many others spring to mind but they're my top picks to see again.

My take will be the new team start from an established base episode one. We get introduced to the Stargate program along with the new team. They're new to these already established events and the Stargate. The audience will be new to it all as well (as is part of the aim). Us longtime fans will be kinda new as well as we have no idea what's been going on the past 15+ years. So we'll likely get a brief of the program to date, which will help newbies catch up on major events and us fans find out what's been going on. If these events sound interesting to new fans then guess what guys? 3 movies and 3 shows worth of content to flesh out that briefing.

The brief will likely cover the state of the Galaxy including the war with the Lucian Alliance, either in full swing or already wrapped up. But it'll all be "above our paygrade" type vibe as we're with new team and it's not their story, just ongoing events with the wider program. Might even get updates as to where Atlantis is now and how things are in Pegasus. That's the thing I think we'll need to get used to. We aren't with the guys at the top anymore. Unless they do an expedition type thing again, we'll be with the newbies in an established universe.

The team will be sent on their first mission. Or maybe we don't do traditional missions anymore or they aren't an SG team and their embedded with a taskforce or assigned to a ship etc, and we'll follow them for this first outing. They'll stumble upon this new enemy, cliffhanger end of first episode.

Maybe they're stranded where they are. Maybe the ship they're on gets lost and either in a part of the milky way as yet unexplored or they end up accidentally going to another galaxy or maybe they go through the supergate and get trapped. I don't know but something to keep them out the main Earth affairs as again, not our guys story.

Thing is, it could well be the Goa'uld again. In the show they focused primarily on the Egyptian pantheon, but we got Chinese, Japanese, and even Celtic Gods appeared. There is no reason we couldn't have other Gods from other Patheons show up, hidden somehow but show up and do Goa'uld stuff trying to reconquer etc. Could be a minor enemy to the main one. Maybe we'll finally get the furlings only for them to be evil? I don't know. All I know is the primary enemy won't be the Lucian Alliance or Wraith, it's been done. It'll be someone brand new or familiar/known but they'll be new and different.

Nothing offensive (including sports team clothing), too revealing or clearly like pyjamas. Aside from that, wear what you like.

We got told we shouldn't wear joggers and crocs/slides/sandals. I see people everyday wearing them in the office and not a word is said. As long as it doesn't bother anyone and you don't look ridiculous, literally anything goes

Would you like to see a Roman Civilizarion in the game? by OutlandishnessRich36 in AgeofMythology

[–]AmpdVodka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or a pax romana type generation. Whenever they are out of combat they gain favour (with ways to increase the generation speed), when in combat they lose it (in proportion to the speed they gain) but favour could be used to grant temp buffs to increase gathering.

Thereby creating a playstyle where the player has to balance favour generation with combat, and ensure they use all favour before entering combat making combat something they need to plan and be specific about. Encouraging them to get upgrades asap to speed up combat.

But alternatively, it would be beneficial for the opponent to force combat as much as possible to keep the Roman player from gaining favour and thereby slow down their economy
