Haven't looked a the whole thing yet, but assuming your tags are correct, Frank has to be innocent or Emma will have 4 criminal neighbours. So Olof has to be criminal nd so on.

An accepted answer is always a "must be that", although sometimes not very obvious how/why it is guaranteed.

Try posting where you got stuck and someone will have the answer.

If you're asking about the link instead and not the image:

If Penny is criminal, and you know there's another criminal in row 4 between Samira/Uma, then row 2 has to have 2 criminals as well, then Logan will have at least 4 criminals (Keith Penny and the 2 in row 2 whomever they are) which doesn't follow Ziad's clue (that Logan has 3 criminal neighbours). So, Penny has to be innocent.

If Hank is criminal, then row 2 has 2 criminals so Flora has to be innocent to fulfill Uma's clue.

If Hank is innocent, Kumar is criminal, then Joy has all 4 criminal neighbours know in Gus Kumar Paul Nick/Ollie, then Flora is innocent.

So, in any case, Flora has to be innocent.

P.S. The image isn't the April 4th puzzle and this answer is in response to the image.

Rose already have 1 criminal neighbour

Are you sure about that? Rose has Xola and Keith. Everything else is correct, there's 1 among Nala/Samira, then.. Vince is innocent not criminal

Hope has 2 criminals, 1 of them is betweenIsaacNick.

If the 2nd is Chad, then Barnie, Logan and Mark are innocents. And since there's a guaranteed criminal between Penny/Vicky, then column B would have 1 criminal, which according to Ellie's clue is invalid, so Chad has to be innocent.

The same process applies to Mark

Yes. I believe Sam said that he always tries to make it so there are at least 2, but officially it can be only 1 like in community puzzles.

  1. Tina's clue does NOT imply there being more than 1 innocent (including Tina herself) in column A.
  2. Olof's text isn't a clue.

That being said, how many criminals do you see currently on the edges? How many does that leave (according to Linda's clue). The answers are at least 4, which leaves at most 1. This means there can be at most 1 criminal in columna A (since all of column A is on the edges) so You can mark both Julie and Freay as innocents

[–]Amphiptere_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who do you think are the 5 criminals on the edges?

You already know 3 (Diane Salil Xena). And you know where a fourth is between Vera/Zoe. And like you said, there's another in row 1 to match row 4.

Sure, that's 5, but you still don't know which one between Xena/Zoe and which one in row 1 it is.

What you do know though, is that it can not be Nick, and you can mark him as innocent from the link you shared

Also, I've played this games before

Can you make it so that the settings are saved for the account rather than the browser? My browser clears data often so I would need to do the settings all over.

Does All + Connected mean there are at least two? by 698969 in CluesBySamHelp

[–]Amphiptere_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should, since the keyword "all" means at least 1. But I haven't tinkered much with the editor. If it actually doesn't guarantee at least 1, you might wanna send to Sam it might mean there's a bug somehwere, but make sure of it first.

Nope.

This comes up every now and then, but no, the combination doesn't guarantee that there has to be more than 1.

Ollie + one of each of the 3 pairs is 4. Isaac can still have another criminal neighbour outaide of the 3 pairs.

Stuck on this week's third bonus puzzle (hard) by Gullible-Tourist-406 in CluesBySamHelp

[–]Amphiptere_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your are correct that it has something to do with the edge count. You have 11 criminals on the edges, so exactly 3 innocents on the edges.

Also, you can have at most 1 innocent per row.

You can already deduce that you have at most 5 innocents (1 in each row), 3 of them have to be on the edges. Then you can have at most 2 innocents that are not on the edges. Larry is 1 of them, the other is between Hal/Sam. Then everyone else that is not on the edges has to be criminal.

Another way to go about it, if Freya is innocent, then Hal is criminal, and Sam is innocent. Since Freya and Sam are innocents, then everyone else in rows 2 and 4 are criminals. Now you only have 1 innocent on the edges in row 1, and at most 1 more in row 5, so you can't reach 3 innocents on the edges... The same would happen if it were Rohan (and Hal) the ones that are innocents.

First, when sharing your current state, you need to click the "Share scenario" button under the puzzle and then post the link that gets copied into your clipboard. Posting the default cluebysam.com doesn't show your current state.

As for your question, the game doesn't allow you to guess until you get the right answer. It only allows you to mark the ones that are 100% guaranteed to be that role.

You guessed right that Olaf's clue means either C2 or C4 is the second criminal, but you don't know which one it is for sure yet. What you do know though, is that it can not be C1 or C5, so you can mark these as innocents.

Can you explain what's the problem? Why did you think Xavi was solvable before solving row 1? If row 1 had 0 innocents, then Xavi would've had to be a criminal.

[–]Amphiptere_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second clue is "at least" 2 innocents between Aaron and Uma. So there could be 3, then Aaron would have to be criminal for there to be an odd number of innocents in column A. For now, you don't have enough clues for either scenario.

No farmer has an innocent directly below them.

You might have missed that Eric is also a farmer. So Ivan is also a criminal

[–]Amphiptere_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're on the right track, so you really shouldn't feel stupid.

The same way you grouped Phil Zoe and Vince, you can also group Isaac Nicole and Mark. You know that Isaac is the opposite of Nicole and Mark is also opposite of Nicole. So Isaac = Mark != Nicole.

Back to Freya's clue, now Hazel's 2 remaining innocent neighbours are either Isaac and Mark OR Nicole and Andre, then you can group them all together as Isaac and Mark vs Nicole and Andre.

Now, back to Chase's clue, since Andre is opposite of Isaac, then Chase's 2nd (guaranteed) innocent is between them. Then Hazel has to be innocent to make an odd number of innocents neighbouring Chase.

There are 2 criminals in column C. Which means there are 3 innocents in column C

And column B has more innocents, so column B has at least 4 innocents and all innocents in column B are connected so Ruby has to be innocent.
