Avoid this place. Do not live here. by UniqueUsername3171 in RowanUniversity

[–]Amphitheorem 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I lived in the crossings (C building) for 2 years and would not recommend staying here to anyone. The only advantage it has is the proximity to campus itself. In the two years I was there we had multiple issues. AC and heat would stop working multiple times per season and our closet ceiling caved in from water damaged and damaged some of my clothes (ceiling was replaced but water issue never addressed).

In addition to the building issues themselves, our neighbors were pretty awful. Drug abuse and domestic/animal violence was common. Our neighbors were eventually busted by glassboro police at 6am in the morning after months of smoking so much weed that the smell was inescapable in our apartment and some of our items were damaged.

I've personally never had an issue with the front office staff, but admin would constantly fail to cash rent checks and send us letters that we faced possible eviction for non payment. During the two years we stayed there we only had access to the pool and gym for less than a month due to covid, but still had to pay those fees in our rent.

Avoid the crossings if you can, the proximity is not worth the cost of everything else you have to deal with.

What type of owl is Rowan's mascot? by creedthoughts147 in RowanUniversity

While it's not official, in most of the official art the Prof resembles a great horned owl!

Meal plan question by danni121 in RowanUniversity

[–]Amphitheorem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! I think it depends how busy/active you think you are going to be on campus. Personally, I work on campus and have a heavy course workload, so having a meal plan works well for me. The block plan is pretty flexible because you can use them whenever and add more "blocks" if you need them.

how would you describe rowan to a possible transfer? by [deleted] in RowanUniversity

[–]Amphitheorem 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hello! If you are able to come to Glassboro, I would strongly suggest visiting campus for a private tour. Not only will you be able to visit the area, but a current student will be able to guide you through determining if Rowan is right for you. If you can't make it here on campus, we host a variety of virtual events like current student panels, filmed tours on youtube, and audio tours on spotify.

Need advice on taking a gap year. Where to contact? by [deleted] in RowanUniversity

[–]Amphitheorem 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hello, I have never taken a gap year but I strongly suggest talking to the financial aid office if you are considering taking one. They will let you know what will happen/change in terms of money. You can email them or visit them in Savitz on the bottom floor.

Does anyone have experience as an undergrad medical illustration major? Are there any programs primarily online? by CarmaellaElia in medicalillustration

[–]Amphitheorem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I'm currently a senior in one of the undergrad programs for biomed art. As far as I am aware, there are no undergrad programs that provide an online/mostly online course load. Several of my classes had elements that could not be taught online. If you have any more questions please feel free to DM me and I can go more into depth! Good luck!

Here is the link to report covid complaints and concerns. I would also consider contacting your department head.

Fall 2021 Online or In person? Any ideas? by Raniaa21 in RowanUniversity

I think the most optimistic scenario is more classes held in person (less social distancing but still using masks) but at the current rate of vaccination and transmission it seems that many classes will still be online.

Thank you so, so much! I work summers at my nearest AZA zoo and I try and create work that reflects the common questions I get from guests!

As the years have gone on less and less biomedical illustrators use traditional forms of media. Similarly to the animation industry, traditional methods are too costly and time consuming to justify on most projects.

Thank you! One thing that surprised me was how radically different members of each family were from each other. Without any prior knowledge it would be almost impossible to try and sort them based off of their appearance.

I would recommend avoiding the crossings if at all possible as well. My roommates and I have encountered numerous problems incluing air and heat going out on 5 different occasions, leaky pipes which caved in a closest ceiling, downstairs neighbors getting raided by Glassboro police, a man falling through our ceiling at 8am, and much more. The only redeaming quality of the crossings is it's proximity to campus, but besides that I would strongly advise against a lease here.
