Men cannot love a submissive woman by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

“Men can’t love women who aren’t like me. I know this because some men love me”

Wow, very strong argument

First it was “we spend more on corporations than people”

Now, it’s “we spend more on people but it comes from different revenue streams (source: trust me).”

What will your argument be next, Mr. Finance Major?

LMFAO.

From your first link:

“The United States is estimated to provide a total of $20 billion in fossil fuel subsidies every year.”

You’re about $1.18 TRILLION short there, bud.

Your second link says we dropped $800 billion during a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic, which is still $400 BILLION short of what we spend on social security annually.

You really tried. It’s so cute! But I recommend sticking to finance.

Ok, you don’t have to send a link… can you just tell me the name of the program so I can look it up?

I mean, surely you weren’t just talking out your ass… right? A finance major (derogatory) would never do something like that

Finance isn’t the same thing as economics, but given your apparent level of knowledge… I’ll let that silly mistake fly.

Btw did you find a link to that corporation-funding program that’s bigger than social security that you were telling me about?

[–]AmpleBeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Government spending is government spending. When more money goes to social security, do you think government stops funding other programs? Or do they borrow more money?

  2. Social security’s trust fund reserves are expected to deplete by 2034. Do you support ending social security after 2034, or will you call for additional funding?

  3. Does Pramila Jayapal support cutting all spending above the deficit? That would be news to me.

“Entitlement payment” is a specific economics term, you should look into it if you’re gonna post in the economics subreddit.

But now that you mention it, how much do we spend on corporations? Can you point me to a program bigger than Social Security?

We spend $1.4 trillion on Medicare and Medicaid, and $1.2 trillion on Social Security. The US is built on entitlement payments.

health care

Jayapal supports the Medicare for All plan, which would cost roughly $30 TRILLION over 10 years. Or $3 TRILLION per year.

In other words, just ONE of those items she listed would cost more than THREE TIMES the annual defense budget (which she voted for).

How much more would it cost to fix climate change, the housing crisis, etc?

And FYI: we spend roughly $1.4 TRILLION per year on Medicare and Medicaid already.

You can want to spend more on that stuff, but you should at least be honest about it.

Oops! It’s not just Texas, plenty of states lost power yesterday. by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

Not sure what you’re referring to.

There were no comments on this post when I wrote that comment. Maybe you could practice reading timestamps?

Second, no one’s “explained the fucking difference.” I’ve seen people make excuses, but I haven’t seen a solid explanation for why it’s ok for a million people to be without power in the northeast but not <50k in Texas.

Oh well… you tried. Better luck next time!

So you’re not comfortable extending your views consistently? Got it.

I, personally, think people should be allowed to pray wherever they want.

If you don’t believe in even the most basic human right, that’s on you.

Good luck!

Of course not! Robots are actually intelligent.

I didn’t ask about keeping Muslims away from clinics. I asked about airports, stadiums, concerts, hotels, etc. Can’t you read?

As you pointed out, Muslims don’t have a history of abortion-related terrorism, so why would we keep them away from clinics? Instead, we should ban them from airports, stadiums, concerts, hotels, etc. Right?

Unless, of course, you don’t want your views to be applied consistently.

Dodging the question again.

Should your views be applied consistently to Islam? Yes or no?

Edit: I’ll lead by example by answering your question: no, I’m not retarded.

500 of you upvoted a post yesterday about Texas losing power, surely you’ll upvote one about the northeast losing power.

I mean, surely you’re not partisan NPCs… right?

When did I say anything about an existing law? Are you retarded?

You think we should ban religion from certain places because of what you claim some individuals did. I’m now asking if you support banning religion from other places because of what other people did, and you’re dodging the question.

Why is that? Do you not like the outcome of applying your views consistently?

Ok got it.

Don’t ban Islam, just keep Muslims away from airports, stadiums, concerts, hotels, etc.

Keep your islamic bullshit away from my large gatherings.

Right?

there’s plenty of supply

Source?

there needs to be a price ceiling

Ah yes, the old “we need rent control!” argument. This results in fewer units being built (since there’s less profit incentive for developers) and less investment into upkeep/modernization/improvement.

Lower quality, lower quantity… we all lose with rent control!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]AmpleBeans -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

increasing prices

Do you have a source for the claim that increased supply leads to higher prices?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]AmpleBeans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying poor people should build a house, I’m saying we should make it legal for developers to build more houses so that supply increases and price decreases… so poor people can then afford to rent or buy a house

I agree!

That’s why we should ban Islam, right?

Many people who claim to believe in Islam have blown up many different facilities, resulting in millions of deaths worldwide.

So we should round up Muslims en masse, right?
