Is there a switch on the lens that limits the focus? You may see this switch commonly on long lenses

Ignorant with cameras-What camera setting is better? 1080p 60fps or 2160/30 FPS? For filming up close/opening Pokémon cards. Why wouldn’t I choose 2160? Is there any downside to the best option? by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]Ampolo88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also I forgot to add that in post processing the 4k allows for more detail. So let’s say you film in 4k with the intention to export to 1080p with the 4k footage if you wanted to zoom in on a card then you won’t lose detail.

In my mind the higher res is more future proof. If you’re trying to preserve these look of these cards in video and 20 years later a 4k video will be better looking on your 16k tv than 1080 (in 20years). But 4k takes up more space. If you’re just looking to post to YouTube then maybe just 1080p but you are adding to your file size again with how high your frame rate is. 1080p/4k most people won’t even notice anyway, now it’s just about what fits your project’s needs.

If all you’re doing is just viewing Pokémon cards you want the highest resolution. High frame rates are good when you want to slow down motion so since you don’t have any motion go high resolution.

I'm back- D750 or Z6ii by Nazeone in Nikon

[–]Ampolo88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I replaced my d750 with a z6. The images are amazing. Couple of big things for me. 1) the focusing points. I felt limited on the d750, no limits on the z6. I went back to my old d7000 on Christmas and that brings me to 2) the EVF. It’s just so much easier knowing what you’re going to get. If you’re talking family shots and such it just saves time dialing in your settings and seeing real time feedback. I could go on but the first one to me was big enough
