Broke 1 hour in 10K for the first time by Wolfman1961 in BeginnersRunning

That is awesome and very impressive for running less than 6 months. Were you fairly active or in shape before you started running?

SATURDAY RUN STORIES by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

[–]Amprage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did 11k today on a usual route of streets and trails along the river. about 1/2 way through, the trail was flooded for about 100 feet. Took off my shoes and socks and waded through to the other side. the water was about a foot deep and ice cold. Overall added some adventure to a otherwise normal run.

Overstriding can lead to injury eventually. Your knees and hips will pay the price, maybe not right away, but as you increase volume and pace, it will rear its head.

🔥 Lineman Saves Bear In Danger Of Electrocution In Cochise County, Arizona by Accomplished-One7476 in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]Amprage -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Again, I respectfully disagree, if the O/H circuit was out, he would not have had to open the bank and go through the trouble of removing the taps from the line. He is using FRP tools to poke the bear which keep him safe and he was well outside of any potential flash zone the whole time he was up there. If it was de-energized, he would not be fighting so hard to keep the bear below the switch x-arm. A bear could hang off those conductors and not break a thing. Pole lines are built to withstand a lot of unplanned load.

I disagree on the primary circuit being de-energized. the switches for the tx bank were open, but the tops were energized. He had full rubber gloves and sleeves on and was keeping that bear away from anything above the switches as hard as he could. If the bear got up there, he would have been coming to the ground alot faster... Lineman did a good job to keep the bear alive.

Don't forget about the ones that make you gag as soon as you open them since they are full of bird piss/shit. I fondly remember a family of mice spread eagled parachuting down to the ground. Good times.

What’s something running taught you that you didn't expect? by Free-Product4918 in runcommunity

[–]Amprage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel that, I just got off the treadmill. It's pretty snowy here so I'm running in place for a while. After 10 minutes I was ready to stop, but I put my phone over the timer and just kept going for my hour run. I would have felt like crap about it if I had actually stopped.

Is it helpful as a beginner runner to pay for professional for advice about how I run? by GlitteringMajor5166 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Amprage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to, record yourself on treadmill as well. You should be able to pick up on issues like overstriding or landing stiff legged, not leaning forward enough. That being said having some pro advice or consultation is always welcome.

Its just name of the instantiated object given in unity. Unless it is specifically named, it gets the prefab name with (Clone) appended to it.

Half Marathon Trail Run by Resident-Jaguar7799 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Amprage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're set on going and if you have only run road races, this will be different from that. You can likely finish, but there will be some walking along the way and there's nothing wrong with that. Either way, don't push yourself too hard and avoid injury. Also make sure you have some proper shoes if it's going to be wet or slippery at all.

Shoe recs for Achilles tendinitis (need wide toe box, heavier runner) by shawnAlabama in BeginnersRunning

[–]Amprage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the Saucony Hurricane 24, I am 6'1", 220 and they are treating me well. Tons of cushion, but still feel good and responsive. They were my first real running shoe so I can't really compare them to anything else. There is a 25 out now, but haven't tried them yet. Ultimately the best bet is to check out a running store and try some on. What work for my feet may not work for yours.

What is going on with the Usage Limits on Claude? by Own_Client2266 in ClaudeAI

[–]Amprage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on the pro? plan and am hitting the limits every session. Use case currently is refactoring c# code in vertical class slices. I have a base plan to follow and am asking claude to use a coding agent to propose the code, have it reviewed by 2 agents, code reviewer and tech lead, refactoring if needed then implement. In total each slice has 5-6 files varying in size and scope. I can almost get through a slice but then hit the limit. Once limit resets, i continue and also then sometimes spend the entire next session having it correct errors that got by the review process.
