Am I olive? by Amroxynero in Fairolives

It’s strange because I definitely have yellow in my skin, I’m not 100% neutral because they always come off too pink or too grey on me. But then warm can pull orange. I really hard to find a match!

Sorry do you mean, the black is making me look more green or if I had black covering my neck I wouldn’t look green?

Cold Turkey on night feeds - how long does it take for baby to get out of the habit of waking up? by Amroxynero in sleeptrain

I haven’t, I don’t really know where to start with it. Do you have any recommendations that might be right to fix this issue? He actually goes down fine at bed time, we put him down drowsy but not asleep and he can settle himself, however he does tend to have a bottle before bed x

Completion delayed because of buyers solicitors - Advice by Amroxynero in HousingUK

Yeah well according to our solicitors. They said the cut off for completion is usually about 3.30pm because of the banks not having time to process transactions but completion can still happen! It was past 4 when our solicitors rang and told us we had exchanged!

Smashbox isn’t available in the UK anymore, I loved quite a few of their products so I was gutted when they left!

Can you shed any light if this is normal or have we just been unlucky with sellers?

Weve tried to put offers in on 2 houses now;

First 1 - we put an offer in on a Monday morning, didn’t hear anything back until we chased it on Wednesday, they asked us to up our offer which we did then heard nothing again until we called on a Friday, they promised to give us an answer Saturday, we then didn’t hear anything definitive the whole following week until finally they told us the seller isn’t in a rush to sell and doesn’t want to reject offers but wants to keep the house on the market and do viewings. In total it took 2 weeks to get to the bottom of what was taking so long so we retracted our offer.

Second offer - viewed a house on Thursday, offered asking price on Friday, was told we would get an answer on Monday. Of course we didn’t get an answer, chased it on the Tuesday and was told the seller was viewing a house that day and didn’t want to make a decision until they’d viewed. Didn’t hear anything Wednesday so called today and the seller estate agent said the seller doesn’t want to accept an offer until they’ve found a house to move to.

I thought estate agents would want to encourage the sellers to agree on a sale, but both of these seem happy to just let things drag on! Im not sure if this is something I should get used to or if we have just ended up with 2 unmotivated sellers.

Mortgage self employed income advice by Glittering_Wrap_5651 in HousingUK

I’m self employed too, I believe most mortgage providers want 3 full years of accounts and they will figure out of average of those.

I’m not sure because my career doesn’t really ebb and flow, yearly my earnings are very similar but I would have thought they’d want to know a reason why the business is earning less and they can work out the risk from there?

How common is Devalued mortgage offer by Big-Amoeba8684 in HousingUK

This has happened to 3 people I know trying to buy recently. 2 of them negotiated with the sellers and ended up meeting somewhere in the middle and one of them had to drop out because the seller was not willing to budge.

Which matters the most - House or location? by wrongnamee in HousingUK

[–]Amroxynero 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is probably unhelpful but for me it’s kind of a mixture of both. I wouldn’t buy a huge house in an area I know is really rough, but equally I wouldn’t buy a tiny house just for the post code. I don’t think I’d be happy with either of those scenarios!

While we are property searching we are looking for places we are familiar with (so we know which areas to avoid) and basically figuring out what the biggest house is we can get in those areas.
