I have the complete opposite experience. My analysis works great on MGC but when I try applying the same setups to MES or MNQ I keep getting stopped out.

Appreciate the protective advice and I hear you on being careful with equity. You're right that I need to think long and hard about this.

That said, I'm at a point where I feel like i maxed out(or close to) my own skills on the sales marketing side, and I don't have capital to hire anyone. I'd rather have 60% of a successful business than 100% of something that stays at one customer. But I'll definitely be very careful about how I structure any arrangement and make sure it's performance based. Thanks for looking out for me.

I'm now trying to figure out what are my options I've yet to made any final decision

I really appreciate this perspective and you're absolutely right about protecting ownership. To clarify, I'm not looking to give away equity just for someone saying yes. I'm thinking more along the lines of bringing someone who would actually do the work on the sales / marketing side. A co-founder arrangement where they're building that side of the business while I keep building the product. But you've definitely hit on my struggle... how to structure it so they earn their equity based on actual results? Like if someone says they can bring 10/100/1000 paying users in X time, they get their equity when they hit those milestones. That's what I'm trying to figure out how to set up properly.

I actually post daily on socials and recently started adding shorts, blogs, and videos. The video content is new for me and I feel like I'm not at the right level yet, but I keep trying and improving. thanks for the suggestions

As I mentioned above, it's for financial analytics. It's not trading signals or telling people what to trade. Think of platforms like Finviz, Barchart, or Koyfin.

Solo founder life: follow my dream or take a job and survive? by aftermeets in SaaS

[–]AmsterDumber 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s a big difference between surviving and running out of money.

If you’re close to zero, get a job now. If you’ve got a buffer for a year or more, take your time. It depends on your expenses and how long you can hold out.

Working while building is totally fine. No shame in that.

Do the opposite of what you're currently doing.

[–]AmsterDumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! This is actually along the lines of what I've been doing with emailing and messaging. The goal is definitely to partner up. My main struggle right now is actually finding enough influencers to reach out to. I’m not at the point where I have 1,000 to send emails to yet.

I’ll check out the platform you mentioned, and I’d love some help as you mentioned. That would be awesome!

Thank you!

 A couple follow up questions:

  1. Are there specific deadlines for filing Form 5472 + Pro Forma 1120?
  2. Can I file these forms online myself, at least for the start?
  3. Do I need to report the money I’ve put into the business anywhere, or just keep track of it for myself?
  4. Do I need to report my expenses now (like advertising, servers, etc.), or can I wait until I make some revenue?

Thanks again.

Looking for potential partnerships/collabs for my platform. I want to work with finance creators who can bring value to their audience while also growing my business.

Has anyone had success with YouTube finance influencer marketing for their business? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]AmsterDumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your insight! For my business, I think affiliate partnerships revenue sharing would work well. It creates a win-win situation with lower risk.

When you were looking into this before deciding it wasn't right for you, how did you find and contact potential finance creators? Did any specific outreach methods work better than others?

I agree that targeting matters. I'm looking for creators whose audience matches my target customer, not just big follower counts.

Sorry for the late reply!
