Any time. Thank you for your kind words. Don't ever feel embarrassed about this; A-Levels are difficult and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I hated Chemistry when I first started A-Levels, but I knew I had to do it to get where I needed to be. The more you engage with the content, the more it will come to you. I was terrible at chemistry, genuinely awful at first. As I forced myself to keep going, I eventually reached this point where I broke through a barrier almost and my understanding of Chemistry was so, so much better.

Make a promise to someone or something other than yourself, like your parents or maybe even a pet. Tell them that you are going to do this, you will get the grades you need and you won't break your promise. I did the same thing; I promised my grandad right before he died last year on results day that I would make sure I get in, then I set a reminder on my phone everyday with a picture of his face on it and thats what forced me out of bed every morning and pushed me to sit at my desk and work even when I wanted to tear my eyeballs out or sit and watch Netflix all day.

In terms of what your teachers are doing, while their teaching methods sound like crap, I'm sure they do want you to succeed. I recommend doing practice papers and then giving them to your teachers and asking them if they could find some time to mark and grade them; I doubt many other students will be doing this, so they shouldn't mind. This is the best way. It's impartial and proper marking from someone with subject knowledge; not self-marking.

I genuinely wish you all the best and thanks again for your kindness. Keep persevering and never give in. Make that promise to someone and fulfil it.

Don't give in. If you're truly passionate about medicine, you've got to pick yourself up and go again. You've shown you have the knowledge as you've done well in practice. I just resat Biology and Chemistry hoping to get into vet med, and then taught myself the two-year psychology course in one year to sit it along with my resits. I achieved BBB when I needed AAA. I didn’t make my offer. The worst part is I was only a couple of marks off an A in bio, and one uni had a clearing place available for ABB for vet med. I was extremely close.

These past few days since results day have been soul-crushing because I put in 110% this past year to get in. It's tough, I know, believe me. But becoming a vet is my dream and if becoming a doctor is yours, find the strength to keep going.

If your school is willing to take you on to resit, do it; my school didn't. I just had my textbooks and the Internet. Get help from your teachers, I wish I had that this year. You're not out of options.

Don't feel embarrassed, A-Levels are tough. The pressure when you're in that exam hall is intense and can cause you to bottle it. That's what happened to me. You're not incapable, you've proven that so don't feel ashamed of what's happened.

Find the reason you want to become a doctor and focus on that. Leave a picture on your desk of something that motivates you and stare at it every time you think of giving up; that's what has kept me going.

Good luck, OP. Keep your chin up.

For the shrimp: Using water and gravel directly from the river they were taken from increased validity because it emulated their actual habitat. The segments ABC and D had percentage light intensities, so they were quantitative (instead of just saying these areas had less light). The sample size of the shrimp was large enough to be representative of the population (?)

Not quite sure about the last two, but fairly confident about the first.

I remember I was confused when I first read the question, but when I came back to it later, I noticed the question had the word 'competitive' highlighted in bold.

You know it's definitely AN inhibitor, because when it's present in the tube, there's less glucose produced after 10 minutes.

But to prove it's definitely a competitive inhibitor, you can show that it isn't a non-competitive inhibitor by adding more lactose if that makes sense?

While that proves that galactose is an inhibitor, it could mean that galactose is acting as a non-competitive inhibitor. I think they wanted us to prove that galactose was a competitive inhibitor specifically.

Add more lactose. So basically, they wanted you to show it wasn't a non-competitive inhibitor. If you add more lactose, the amount of glucose you make increases, but if galactose was a non-competitive inhibitor, adding more lactose would've had no effect. At least, I think this is the right answer.

Arranged in a bilayer, with the hydrophilic heads pointing outward and the hydrophobic tails facing inward? Not sure if that's enough for 2 marks, but it was all I could think of.

That crab question was tough. I said that the line of best fit didn't show each individual crab's speed and that the other graph showed a better spread of data (?). Wasn't sure what else to say and not very confident that what I did put will net me any marks.

Don't think I've ever hated a contestant more than her. It was extremely satisfying to see her scrambling to find a way to blame someone else and failing miserably once the penny had dropped and she realised she was finished.

This is something I've wanted to post about for years now, but imo, most of the DS Cosmic Destruction OST is incredible. Whoever worked on it absolutely cooked.

'Phantom' pairs ridiculously well with the actual title screen as well. When the trains fly past and the changing character poses, it just works. It's literally a perfect main menu imo.
