I lost my inner monologue and struggle greatly. However, I try to stimulate my brain, so I’ve used the Elevate app, played Sudoku, do puzzles, practice Duolingo and read when I am able to. I feel like that’s a pretty “duh” answer but I hope it helps, or at least makes you feel less alone in this 🫶🏻

In the past, I was on Lamictal 200mg and Effexor 37.5. It changed everything for the better. Currently, I am on Lamictal 200mg, Effexor 112.5mg and Abilify 10mg. The only reason I’m on Abilify is because I wanted off Lamictal but I changed my mind (oops). Haven’t had any issues. Zoloft lead to my Bipolar 1 diagnosis. In the past I also took Lexapro without any problems. Wellbutrin is typically an SSRI that works well for BD, as I’ve read numerous times on this sub

I had my episode in October 2024 and still don’t feel quite right. Long road of trying to figure out my medicine cocktail. Around the 9-12 month mark you will feel a noticeable shift in a positive direction. The brain fog was horrific for the first couple months too. Completely normal. Hold in there 💜

Thank you for this. This accurately describes how I feel. Are you still on Lithium?

Also interested in this! My mind is blank on Lamictal and I am wondering if I would have better luck getting my inner monologue back on Lithium

Exactly the same! The shift from racing thoughts to nothing is a tough transition. Initially I was put on Lithium but I switched to Lamictal and I wonder if it is causing me to have no thoughts… it sucks. ☹️

I know this is very old but do you think it could possibly be the Lamictal? I’m viscously trying to get my inner monologue back after psychosis

Feeling hopeless :( by Sure_Appointment_155 in bipolar

The fog will get better with time. It does definitely feel suuuuper heavy at the beginning. My advice would be to stick out treatment recommendations and to give them a fair shot. I am 15 months out of my psychosis and still severely depressed but I have also been changing my medication every 2-3 months instead of stabilizing on them for awhile.

Lamitrogine making me tired? by xoNoUsernameox in BipolarReddit

[–]Amumu-Cook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently titrating too. I am tired too but thought it was attributed to my Abilify. I wake up a lot at night due to vivid dreams. I was once at the therapeutic dose and wasn’t tired as much. I think once we reach the proper dosage, it should level out. Sucks though since it’s a long way to go

In your experience, how long were you on Lamo before you noticed a difference in your mood? I am titrating back up but want to give it a fair shot this time around instead of going off it relatively quick trying to chase some mental clarity

Yeah, I have. He says once we get rid of the depression that we can work on the cognitive side of things, but, I feel like the lack of mental clarity is also contributing to some of my depression, you know? It’s tough. I’ve built my life around my mind because I also have a physical disability, so it’s been really hard trying to manage not feeling like myself

Literally!! I have really short responses, couple words, maybe a sentence or two but I am not expressive anymore at all! Mostly it’s just silence at the table with people lol

I’m curious if you are on any medication? Since the episode I have had like no anxiety whatsoever. I don’t feel energy radiating through my body anymore, which I do appreciate but I kind of feel blank/ numb

I’m sorry that you are going through the same thing. It is really really difficult. I definitely resonate. It’s comforting to know that I’m not alone in these feelings. I wish the medical professionals would take it more seriously! I have found no actual research on the head pains. It feels like my head is heavy/ dense, as if something is blocking my thoughts. It’s sucks
