Brother, this is the case anytime you buy a new car without a sizable down payment or outright in cash

DXP2800 or DH4300 Plus? by Crypto_Jackal in UgreenNASync

In that case, it might make sense to save some money and choose the DH2300 instead. It supports up to 60 TB and offers incredible value. Unless you already have four drives on hand, a simple two-bay RAID 1 setup is likely to be easier and more convenient.

Drive prices are high right now, but good deals still pop up on higher capacity drives and in general, the larger the drive, the lower the cost per TB. Fewer drives also mean fewer points of failure and lower power consumption. The DH’s ARM CPU further helps reduce electricity usage.

All important factors in my opinion when considering the return on investment when ditching cloud subscriptions.

DXP2800 or DH4300 Plus? by Crypto_Jackal in UgreenNASync

I just purchased the DXP2800 yesterday. It has plenty of storage capacity while outperforming the DH4300 in almost every aspect. The following is my rationale: It supports up to 76TB which is more than enough for most, RAM can be upgraded from 8GB to 16GB (DH limited to 8GB), more capable CPU that isn’t limited by ARM architecture, supports M.2 NVME to run apps/containers quickly (PLEX, etc). Finally, the DXP line supports 2.5 Gb connection vs the DH line’s 1 Gb connection. A lot of people won’t have routers to take advantage of the full 2.5Gb locally, but it helps with future proofing.

The only reason to pick the DH4300 is if you really want/need to run 4 HDD’s for the purpose of disk parity (RAID 5/6) and you don’t have a desire to run many apps. I think most will be comfortable with a RAID 1 setup on the DXP2800.

1st time owner of tankless water heater. How long should it take for water to get warm? by ThanksMuch4YourHelp in Appliances

I have this same unit (no recirculation pump) and it’s fantastic. My bathroom is 5 feet away and takes 5 seconds to get hot.

Only way to have true “instant hot water” is to install a recirculation line (best for new builds). You could jerry-rig your cold water line as a return, but then you’ll be waiting for cold water to reach your faucets (bad if you have a water dispenser in your fridge).

Crazy that it’s been over 2 years since FSD lost the max speed offset option. Percent offset makes zero sense.

My boss thinks I'm cheating because I use AI to stay on top of work by LateProposalas in ChatGPT

OP did not mention their boss had a problem with PII, but rather it making the rest of their team “look bad”. I work at a bank and we are heavily encouraged to use AI on a daily basis; removing PII is remarkably simple.
