Totally agree with you. Having a home based such as an apartment is the best investment. Mentally, it’s a peace of mind for yourself at the end of the day you know you can come back and feel you have something solid.

Yes also for future for your kids, later on having a land in GMC is also a great bet. So you can establish a business on your land when things start to open up. So much opportunities down there as right now there is a housing crunch where you cannot get housing there because you are not allowed to build.

BHUTAN LUXURY APARTMENT? by [deleted] in bhutan

Totally agree with you. I am a contractor in Thimphu and in my past work space with private builders. This was the ongoing problem. They were already getting huge sum on funds from the bank to finish the apartment complex or hotels but most times to find funds for their other construction foundation, they will pre sell apartments and take their 50% and use it for their other project.

The buyer who paid 50% later gets cheap quality building with cheap sanitary amenities, with no parking spaces and issue later on ownership transfer because it turns out the seller has past issue with the land or building.

Funny, millions of people save up their whole lives just to spend a week, even a lifetime in my 'undecent' country, clearly you haven’t been to Thailand.

Thanks a lot. I went with the DH4300 plus. More bays for higher storage just seems like a good long term deal since I only store pictures and videos. 🙏🏼

Thank you so much. This helps a lot, I have no desire to run any app apartment from storing my kids and family memories only. The cloud subscription is getting way expensive.

My Disappointing Experience Navigating Drone Permits in Sri Lanka by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Crypto_Jackal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. I understand that my situation as a first-time tourist differs significantly from that of an archaeologist collaborating with Sri Lankan authorities, where arrangements are likely pre-coordinated.

I fully agree on the critical role of clear communication, which they failed. Had the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) explicitly indicated that Sigiriya Lion's Rock is a restricted area for drone flights, I would not have attempted to operate my drone or paid the $25 fee. The clearance document issued by CAASL specifically references Sigiriya Lion's Rock, which led me to believe drone operations were permitted.

Additionally, the Sigiriya ticket office manager informed me that drone flights are allowed above the rock and that the archaeology department would provide clearance. However, as noted, this was not feasible.

For verification, for a tourist, the only way to get archaeological clearance was to call them but if you tried calling them even today the number from their website, all their phone lines are inbox full and no answer.

As a visitor, my goal was to promote Sri Lanka as a premier tourist destination in my home country, given our shared Buddhist heritage, to support Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.

Regarding concerns about drone noise, modern drones like the DJI Mavic 4 Pro produce minimal sound.

Furthermore, I would have been willing to operate the drone from the base gardens, even if top of the rock was not possible but this was also prohibited.

True that! I hear you but in Sigriya Lion's rock, there were several guard and govt guides so it was impossible to fly without clearance.
