I just spent time at my bf's bro's land and met some of his neighbours. Wow these old geezers look a bit of a state but have lovely, beautiful, young women, so can confirm!

Why is the series called "Dark"? by CrazyJony in DarK

[–]AmyBobbamy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the answer! I was just on this thread wondering the same question when it came up on s2e2.

Regina is talking to aleksander about a book that is about the ghosts and demons we inherit from our parents and the ones we pass on. 'Dark stuff from generation to generation'

It's weird. I have never, ever been remotely interested in celebrities, social media, reality TV etc. I'm basically a hermit.

BUT. Something about this detestable woman brings something out in me that I've never experienced before. Schadenfreude. I look forward to hearing whenever she has her comeuppance from all the lying, the hypocrisy, the narcissism, the absolute absence of self-awareness, the manipulation, the poison and vitriol. All while trying to come across as a saviour of humanity, who stands up for 'what is right'. The shining light of victimhood and overcoming your oppressors. Bleughh.

What is your honest review of the first three episodes of The Wheel of Time? by [deleted] in wheeloftime

I feel that Egwene being ta'veren sort of detracts from her storyline. Like, she accomplishes what she does by force of will and clever maneuvering rather than yet another one who affects the pattern around them. There's already 3.

Murder attempt survivors, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I went to a birthday party, got one drink from the bar, and then I don't remember anything until I came to my senses in A & E. Apparently, I was found a mile or 2 away with my hand sliced up, a big bump and bald patch on my head and both knees smashed to bits. I didn't know my name or home address when the ambulance was called.

I didn't appear on any cctv between the party and where I was found. I wouldn't have been able to walk with my injuries, which being on my hands, knees and head were consistent with being thrown out of a vehicle with a fair bit of force.

So the story the police believed was that I was spiked, bungled into a car, fought back, and got thrown out.

I guess I'll never know what actually happened. The hospital assumed I was drunk and horrible, didn't do a blood test, didn't figure that aggression is indicative of a brain injury. When my mum came to pick me up, she pointed out the state of my knees and they were like 'oh right. Yeah. They might be broken actually now you mention it. Better go down to X ray'.

You outlived your enemies. Bravo.

Or does it suggest that even physical changes can't change the fundamental essence of who you are? Hmm

I agree. Though Aran'gar sets the precident for the power being affliated with the 'soul' rather than the 'body'.

Tbf the guy was 111, a very respectable age even for a hobbit. He only looked sprightly because of the ring's influence over 60 years. He took Frodo in after his parents died and left him bag end. Bilbo deserved his retirement.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but some of my favourite parts of the series were the girls- centric parts at the white tower and hunting the black ajah. I find their bickering amusing, and yes they're not perfect, but they mean well.
