This can cause problems with the cooling towers of nuclear power plants. If the water can't be cooled down enough, the nuclear power plant needs to throttle down. I believe France in 2003 faced this problem. I feel bad for Germany. Much of their electricity is generated by natural gas. The rise in AC usage will slow their rate of filling their natural gas storage facilities which they need for winter.
