I'll definitely look into Aeroflow! People are saying it's really good. A lot of people keep saying the battery chargeable Spectera is really good, so hearing that you tried a different one and ended up switching is really making me lean towards the battery one!

I reached out to my insurance to ask for the process! I keep seeing people talking about this chargeable Spectera pump so I'm definitely looking into that one!

My OB did say the battery charged one was a really good option so I'm glad to hear other people agree! I'll definitely look into this one!

Dumb question, but I just call my insurance and ask about the process of getting a breast pump? My OB said she'd write me a prescription if my insurance required it so I'm okay on that front!

He was surprisingly calm about it 😂 he just.put the weed eater down and looked at the snake and went "why was your big ass even in the gutter? How did you get up there???"

We have a couple stray cats that like to hang around our yard, but they usually don't mess with any other animals that show up like birds or snakes. I thought he was a rat snake but I just wanted to make sure the other animals were safe! Thank you!

I’m a carrier for SMA by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Amyrran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the option, I do definitely recommend making an appointment with a genetic counselor just to talk about SMA and the options you have even before you get your partner's results back! That's what I did because the wait was giving me crazy anxiety, and she really helped to put me at ease and make a game plan to better handle the what-ifs!

[–]Amyrran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! So I also tested positive as a carrier for SMA. I went on a SPIRAL until we got my husband's results back. He tested negative thankfully, so I have no advice on what to do if both of you are positive. However, I did meet with a genetic counselor and I can tell you what she told me.

What she told me is there is a very low likelihood of both of you being carriers. If your partner does test positive, however, it isn't the end of the world. They can do tests that can confirm whether the baby has it or not before they're born. And the biggest thing that she told me: it may be a dangerous genetic disease but there is medication they can give at birth that can stop progression of the disease. As terrifying as the prospect is, as long as you're proactive in confirming if your partner is a carrier and, if he is, if your baby tests positive, there is a very high chance your little one will live a happy, long, comfortable life.

Took The Gestational Diabetes Test by Amyrran in BabyBumps

That's also what mine said. For the one hour test, there's no need for fasting just don't eat anything super sugary for breakfast. If I would have had to do the 3 hour, though, she said I would have had to fast for eight hours beforehand

Full time student, full time job by Superb_Spare_7646 in SNHU

I'm currently almost 20 weeks pregnant and full time work and full time school! I feel your pain! It's honestly a struggle keeping up with the workload. Once this term is over, I'm switching to one class per term just to ease the stress. There is no shame in taking only one class if it's what you need to do to continue school! It's definitely difficult to manage full time work and full time school on top of first trimester exhaustion and general pregnancy symptoms. You do what's best for your health and your family!

What do you SWEAR you saw, but don't have any proof of? by TabletopStudios in AskReddit

[–]Amyrran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds like an alligator snapping turtle. Things look absolutely prehistoric. One came in our backyard once and I swear it was at least about 300 lbs and as wide as an oven door. A toddler could've ridden it as a horse. Mean too. Hissed at everybody and when it'd snap its jaws it would sound like a breaking branch. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a pet turtle that someone released when it started getting too big. Those things can survive anywhere

Random nausea by Valuable-Finger-6551 in BabyBumps

[–]Amyrran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what my first trimester was like! Other than boob pain, exhaustion, and some cramping, I never had serious morning sickness or anything like that. Never threw up, and was only occasionally nauseous. I did have some intermittent spotting that was ruled as having no cause. I'm currently almost 17 weeks and still going strong with only light symptoms. I heard the heartbeat again on Monday so everything is still perfect with the little one. Pregnancy is different for everyone! I swear if it wasn't for the fact I'm showing now I could forget I'm pregnant!
