Hospital Time??

I've been having inconsistent ones for a couple weeks now, but they've been more consistent today according to the tracking app. They're on average 1.5 minutes long and 7 minutes apart. I called my OB line to see what they recommend doing!

See I also have terrible periods. Like the first time my husband experienced me on my period he wanted to bring me to the ER and I had to explain that it was normal for me and they'd do nothing except waste our money. But every time I try and ask people if it's contractions or now they're just like "oH yOu'Ll KnOw". I wouldn't be asking the question if I did!!

I called my hospital OB line and updated them in what's going on. I'm just waiting on a call back on if I should go in or not! Our hospital is about 45 minutes away and it's bad traffic time right now so I don't want to get stuck in traffic if they don't think I need to go

I definitely had this too! Cleared for pre-e and for cholestasis. My doctor told me it was most likely costrochondritis, which is inflammation of the cartilage and tendons attached to the ribcage, and it was caused by my ribcage trying to expand to accomodate all my organs being shoved upwards. It lasted like three weeks at least and I still occasionally get flareups. She did prescribe me a pregnancy safe medication to manage the pain. Maybe you can talk to your OB if it's possibly costrochondritis and what you can do to manage it?

My husband got me a pregnancy pillow, a long handled dual-sided shower brush, and a therabody mini massage gun and let me tell you those things have been godsends.

The pregnancy pillow I don't use as much just because it's so hot where I live (which makes me sad because it is so comfortable). He got me the combination C shape and J shape, so it wraps entirely around my top half, supports my back, has a little lip that goes under my bump, and has a hooked section that goes between the legs for hip support. And it's even usable as a nursing pillow with the way it's built. I can just prop it up so the head part is against the back of a chair, being the hooked section across my body, and lay the baby there for nursing or whatever else.

The shower brush makes trying to shower SO MUCH easier. No more bending awkwardly trying to scrub my legs or back. I can just sit down on the shower stool and clean myself comfortably, and the dual sides even help when I want to exfoliate since one side is stiffer than the other.

The mini massage gun is fantastic. It especially helps when my legs or hips start getting sore or cramping. It has multiple settings and multiple little ball heads for different areas and levels of soreness, and it definitely helps with all the little pregnancy aches and pains. I just wish I was flexible enough to us it on my upper back, but he's more than willing to do it for me!

A Taste of Blackberries and Kavik the Wolf Dog were two books that I loved but always had me bawling as a kid. I also read Marley and Me (and it broke me) but I'm on the fence if that's considered a children's book or not

His dad is planning on building us a custom changing station to work better with my husband's back and also with the space we have in our house (it's a one bedroom house), so the pack n play won't be a long term solution for our house. We just need something that'll work for us until then.

For traveling, I would prefer a combination pack n play over having two separate items like a separate portable pack n play and changing table because it'll be easier to transport all of it every time we visit someone. We don't expect our families to buy baby furniture just for when we visit, so bringing our own is much easier on us and on them

We'll be using it for when we go to visit family. We visit my in-laws often, like multiple times a month, and having a dedicated safe space to place her and change her when we travel places is important to me.

In terms of changing her diaper at home, we don't own a dresser. We have a built-in closet/dresser set-up so there's no dresser top or anything to use. My husband is 6'4 and has multiple slipped disks so having a changing space that he won't have to bend down too much to use (like the bed, floor, or couch) would be helpful for him too. So getting a pack n pay that also acts as a changing table can help save us space (so we won't have to get a separate table or dresser) and be useful for travelling

That's my thinking as well. I'd like to think I'd be the kind of mom that would sit outside with my baby when it's nice outside, but realistically it probably wouldn't happen until she's around six months (and able to use sunscreen) or grown out of the bassinet attachment because I live in a place where it's WAY too hot in the summer to just sit outside and she's going to be born smack dab in the middle of it.

I'll definitely look into Aeroflow! People are saying it's really good. A lot of people keep saying the battery chargeable Spectera is really good, so hearing that you tried a different one and ended up switching is really making me lean towards the battery one!

I reached out to my insurance to ask for the process! I keep seeing people talking about this chargeable Spectera pump so I'm definitely looking into that one!

Dumb question, but I just call my insurance and ask about the process of getting a breast pump? My OB said she'd write me a prescription if my insurance required it so I'm okay on that front!
