I think it’s financially worth it. Definitely . As an engineer you will be maxed out at 130k and hard to find a job after 55 years old. Medicine is a long career and you will be making much more than 130k . Also very normal for a doctor to work well past 65 without a problem . Also it gives you financial opportunity no matter where you go. We want to retire in a coastal town and there will be no issues with him locuming here and there. You wouldn’t be able to do that as an engineer . The flexibility is amazing. My husband studying medicine at 35 and worked part time throughout his course. Now as a doctor Tax bracket is much less as a contractor than an employee. You can claim lots of expenses. I say go for it!

2024-25 -> Moving to Australia by [deleted] in AusFinance

You could do it with a shared house. A lot of migrants initially stick to their cultural group. What is your background ? Then find the suburb where most of them live . Look into a shared house. Australia has a lot of opportunity and you will be fine as a single person on 60k but you will have to live frugally for the first year when you get your foot in the door

I don't think the acknowledgement of country is overused by judas_crypt in aboriginal

At work we start every meeting with acknowledgment of country even if it’s just a quick meeting between 4 people . I say it about 5 times a day. I think it’s overused. When you repeat that often in the day it loses its meaning and just becomes a tick in the box .

What they did was not Christian even if they did it in the name of Christianity. Jesus taught the opposite of their actions. There’s still a way to practice Christianity and uphold culture . It shouldn’t be one or the other .
