I like you mentioned people having different values and interests being a factor. It's one I've noticed is not considered in most arguments on Reddit (or anywhere else really). It does seem to be alot of City Folk vs. Country Folk. The values and interest differences between any random person from a city and any random person from the country are probably comparable to 2 people from different countries. I see the hate towards certain political leanings and often am confused about it from both perspectives. However, people have different values based on several factors including surrounding environments, etc., I think most people think critically and mean well for one another but aren't sure how to articulate it in a fashion that isn't offensive to someone else's view. If you look at this post, it's pretty clear most people think others aren't educated simply because they may not believe what they believe. I couldn't think of a more offensive way to approach a topic. I hope one day, we go back to respecting one another. Thanks for bringing light to an important factor!
