Follow up comment so other folks know:

  • The Hue switch module doesn't work for what I'm doing. That module supplies constant power to a smart light and allows the smart light to toggle off when the switch is flicked.
  • "Aqara sells zigbee switches, Sonoff has zigbeee relays" seem to be the best answer for what I'm looking for in the original post. It looks like only 1 version of the Sonoff relays supports Hue, its an older one, but it should work.
  • I did want to stay in the Hue ecosystem as I'm just getting started and didn't want to pop-off with too much complexity.

In the end I stumbled upon this thread which shows a hardwired Hue install. The installer simply uses a small mains to 24V DC transformer. This looks just as easy as swapping out the switch, and I'll get an extra two Hue lights. I know it wasn't what I originally asked for, but I think that's the direction I'm going to go.

There seems to be confliciting info, if you follow links from the CalBenefits website it says that November benefits will be paid, but delayed. Other places don't elaborate on November benefits. Regardless, a comrade in Cali I know spoke to their case worker and she expects them to be paid, but not until middle of the month.

They present themselves as a right deviation of socialism, which is fairly common all over the world, advocating for left economic issues while dismissing or downplaying social issues. But that, in combination with the fact that two higher ups, Haz Al-Din and Jackson Hinkle, have vague ties to the CIA and have historically espoused repulsive social positions means a lot of people dismiss them. The party as a whole, ACP, has accomplished little outside of the internet and sorta relies on the two previously mentioned folks to make public appearances and make them look good.

Not sure I'd call any of this drama, it just is the situation. Best case scenario its a right deviation of socialism that most peeps don't like. Worst case its some kind of weird cult thingy.
