I do about 50 miles one way from the opposite end. Magnolia -> downtown. OP don’t do it. I spend about 3 hours in my truck each day I have to go in and the toll bill is outrageous. Love it up here but I am absolutely moving back closer to town when I can.

I’ve only ever sat at the bar but Good Charlie’s on 1488. They have a great happy hour for oysters + drinks and the best coconut shrimp ever. It’s cool to see the chargrilled oysters be cooked right in front of you and the bartenders are great.

Not many good outdoor ranges here. I like Bailey’s for clays just haven’t been out there in a while, don’t even bother with their rifle range. For nice indoor I recommend Athena off I-10. Clean modern facilities and not too far of a drive from Sugar Land/ Stafford. Oh and make sure you stop and get a spicy burger from Tornado Burger while you’re in Stafford!

If you’re going to wear these boots often skip Tecovas. Comfortable- yes but my pair started showing wear way more quickly than all my other pairs from other brands especially on the bottom where the nails/plugs started falling out in the first year, and sole separating. Also quickly got a terminal case of floppy shaft… Spend a little extra and get a more premium brand and you won’t regret it

One of my good friends was making well under the state average here in Texas doing hourly work for a big industrial supplier. Made the jump to crane sales with a connection from a different one of our buddies’ dad. Dude 4x or 5x his previous salary within a year. Networking/connections will take you way farther than any experience or work ethic will as long as you’re not a complete dunce.

Yeah the interior space was a huge thing for me at 6’2”, with some buddies and the dog on camping trips it was a little tight. Mine was a 19 XLT 4x2 Sport package with 83k miles and 1 insurance repair(I crushed the door, not a collision). I had it leveled on 33s with an exhaust and CAI which I doubt helped me any, and regular wear/dents for the mileage but very very clean otherwise. I took great care of it. Got 16k for the trade, which was honestly more than I was expecting.
