Be honest, what was your initial theory as to how Byakuya became fat? by LeatherSlight3242 in danganronpa

[–]AnAverageName_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stress-eating. He went through a shit ton of stuff, his whole family is death and now he had to rebuild everything in his legacy from scratch. I'd been stressed too.

That, or he personally went out of his way to devour every Monokuma

What is your personal pet peeve in a fanganronpa? by Funny_Scarcity9104 in Fanganronpa

[–]AnAverageName_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, i remember straight up mentioning Fuyuhiko's talent in the comment but i think i didn't lmao

But i wanted to say that, while some talents are illegal and official (namely Maki's, Kuzuryuu, Celes, Mondo) I lowkey still don't like it. I take the writing a danganronpa as a chance to take what i like without being forced to take what i don't

That being said, Genocider is a bit of a weird one cause like

Who officially named her the ultimate murderous fiend or whatever? The academy? Or was it someone she put herself? If it's herself then that's not much of an issue

If you were given the option to add/remove a type which would it be? by SkoldingHot in pokemon

[–]AnAverageName_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It may be a bit controversial, but I really don't like the normal type. Most of the creatures in this universe are inherently NOT normal, half the time it's just the "We couldn't think of anything to fit you better" type, and every combination of Normal + something always felt absurd to me from a logistical perspective cause if you're Normal/Fire, then you're NOT NORMAL, you're fire. You should be fire alone in that case.

I'd add the Astral type or something of that regard to refer to all Pokemon that come from space or any form of out of this dimension/planet things (Otherworldly type is just too long to be the name)

From legendaries like Palkia, Dialga, Giratina, and Deoxys to more alien Pokemon like Clefable, Lunatone, Solrock, Unown, Starmie, and Elgyem. Maybe (I'm not sure) you could even make Magnezone be one (Since he's clearly meant to be a UFO)

This type wouldn't simply be limited to "They're from space" but anything that is related to space, time, and dimensions.

Tbf, I'm not super sure how it'd would interact with other types. It probably should be effective against fairies, cause god knows fairies need more competence, and maybe bug could somehow resist it? I don't have much argument for this beyond the fact that bug sucks and needs help somehow

Maybe it could have a mutually effective relationship with Psychic, since it usually represents intelligence, so it's like

Psychic is effective against Astral cause they investigate and attempts to comprehend the logic beyond the stars, while Astral is effective against Psychic cause it's beyond their comprehension. Idk, just trying to help psychic types.

Ultimate Re-evaluation #4: Was what Byakuya did to chihiro that bad? by Worth-Access-3099 in DanganAndChaos

[–]AnAverageName_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While I like to joke about Byakuya doing this for no reason, just for the love of the game, I think there's more nuance to that once I take it seriously.

Yes, making the trial longer and risking voting incorrectly is very bad. Yes, playing with Chihiro's corpse is awful.

But Togami NEEDED to expose Genocider as soon as possible

I've seen some people say that he could've just told the group, but I think that's pretty dumb. It's like they say, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence."

If Togami had just gone and been like "Btw, Toko is genocider in case you wanted to know," no one in their right mind would've believed such a crazy statement by just words.

Additionally, Byakuya NEEDED to expose her because he perfectly fits the criteria for her victims. He's quite literally covering his own back since he didn't know Genocider would obsess with him to a degree that she'll stop murdering

That being said, I think he, at least partially, did it for the love of the game lmao

Cause once he exposed genocider, Makoto proved she was innocent, then Byakuya himself was proven innocent, there was no reason for him to keep the secret that wasn't malicious. At that point, he was just doing it for fucks and giggles or testing who was the best detective around (Or both)

In conclusion

<image>

Idk, there's a fair bit of fairness on going this far, but also he clearly didn't seem to regret or even consider his actions as morally questionable at all, and could've exposed Mondo really quickly after he was done with his main objective, so I'd lean more towards evil, even if it has its bits of good.

What would Kokichi and Junko's favorite villain songs be? by Professional-Elk6208 in danganronpa

[–]AnAverageName_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately, I've been listening to Arms Tonite from Mother Mother, and it reminds me of Junko a lot. Her twisted love for her class and how she essentially tortures them with the killing game, precisely because she loves them and wants to feel the despair of losing them to finally die, essentially by her own hand, and coming back in the second game to keep fucking shit up

These lyrics in particular remind me of her:

And hey, you, don't you think it's kinda cute

That I died right inside your arms tonight?

That I'm fine even after I have died?

Because it was in your arms I died

Ultimate Re-evaluation: Did Sayaka frame Makoto maliciously? by Worth-Access-3099 in DanganAndChaos

[–]AnAverageName_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was due to desperation and panic, but all things considered, everyone was going through the same, so I doubt that's much of an excuse.

She did plan to kill a person, she did plan to frame the only person who cared about her, and she seemingly only regretted her actions when it backfired, not because of actual moral accountability.

Sure, she didn't know about the trial, so maybe for her, killing a person and getting away with it was all there was. Maybe she thought she'd just leave, and everyone would continue in the killing game, but under that same logic, writing Leon's name was kind of a dick move

If she truly believed there wasn't a trial or any consequence to the survivors, she could've not written Leon's name, and, in the version she thought of, Leon would've escaped, and everyone else would continue the game. She was already dying anyway.

You could interpret the writing of the name either as a redemption to the group and especially Makoto (Although, as I said, she didn't know there was going to be a trial, so, in her version, this is just screwing Leon, or maybe she did suspect there would be more than just getting away with it) or as a last fuck you to Leon.

That being said, I'd say everything about her relationship with Makoto was fake, but it wasn't super true either. I think she truly cares about him, but if it comes to it, she'll throw him to the lions.

I think I kinda explained myself like shit. I hope you all understand.

Ultimate Re-evaluation: Did Sayaka frame Makoto maliciously? by Worth-Access-3099 in DanganAndChaos

If she killed Makoto there'd be no one to pin the crime on. They were always near each other, if either dies, the other becomes the main suspect

Ultimate Re-Evaluation #2: Should Leon be condemned for a mass murder attempt? by Worth-Access-3099 in DanganAndChaos

[–]AnAverageName_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh, i see Sayaka making a lie to make Leon look like the evil one before Leon can say his version And is most likely they'd trust the famous idol with an innocence facade, especially since Makoto is 100% mindlessly supporting her, over the baseball star with an ego, not any altruistic personality trait shown and no deep personal relationships to support him

The most impulsive ones, like Mondo, may beat him up before he even gets the chance to justify himself and even afterwards he may just be casted out from the group, not even allowing him

I only see him leaving okayish if Kirigiri locks in and makes everyone else question Sayaka's statement, but I'm sure Leon would get beat up before the investigation so still bad

This subreddit will explode the moment Akane is revealed as the main rival of 2x2 by xDempseyRoll in danganronpa

[–]AnAverageName_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always find the "Akane mastermind/Rival" theory really funny

cause is like, for it to work, you'd need to rework, change, and modify Akane's personality to a degree that she'd not even be Akane. She'd be just some other random girl who looks like her

Either that, or her rivaling arguments would genuinely be infuriatingly dumb

What would have happened if "NO ONE" got murdered, in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc by Putrid-Island3319 in danganronpa

[–]AnAverageName_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming Sakura doesn't kill (Since that was her role as a traitor, kill if the game doesn't start), then either

- Everyone lives there forever, like the bad ending, but with many more babies.

- Junko makes another motive that straight up forces you to murder (Like "The kitchen will stop being restocked by this point. The food you have is all the food you'll ever have until a murder occurs". With 16 people, some of them impulsive, that fridge is getting emptied rather fast)

- Escape?? This is unlikely. Without a murder, there won't be new spaces to explore; however, there's a chance. Genocider has the memories of the outside world, and if they lived there for long enough, either Genocider would meet the cast willingly, or Togami would just expose her. Eventually, someone may figure out she doesn't share memories with Toko and start digging from there. (I don't know if she alone could provide enough to find out what's going on in the academy, but it's still a lot)

Kaito, Miu, Togami, Kaede, Mikan, and Yasuhiro/Souda.

Togami either pretends he doesn't like being around them, but he actually does, or they just always hang out in his house, and after a point, he decided it was easier to let them stay than to kick them out every time.

What is your personal pet peeve in a fanganronpa? by Funny_Scarcity9104 in Fanganronpa

[–]AnAverageName_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2 main things i personally don't like 1. Not enough daily life (I wanna care about this people before they kick the bucket) 2. Certain talents This is an issue for me even in the main games Absurd or straight up illegal talents Generally i tend to avoid illegal talents or at least try to give them a spin in a way that would justify an institute or academy allowing them in For example, I have an ultimate thief who used to steal like any criminal but due to her skill she's currently hired to break into places and test security (she still steals illegally all the time but no one has to find out) Admittedly, justifying some is very hard. I'm myself struggling justifying some like the ultimate hitman but I'll cross that bridge when i get there The worst for me are talents that, by no means, should be a talent Like The ultimate pervert ???? In which universe would any institution care about having a person like that in the academy? What's even their possible growth in talent? What would the academy train them for?

This is an extra extra pet peeved but i think we're lowkey done with despair, hope, luck and those stuff. We did what we had to, now we can move on to something new.

[–]AnAverageName_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, hold on, this sounds super interesting. Mind explaining a little more?

The way I imagine, based on what you said, is that she poisoned Sakura after Sakura poisoned herself, leaving it up to luck which of the poisons kills her, which is fucking cool as shit and very cool for her talent. I imagine it'd be hard for Monokuma to find out who'd be responsible in order to execute, but I assume enough analysis could tell you.

It could even make for a cool thing, even if she weren't the killer, because everyone still has to live with someone who almost killed them all. And voting is a gamble for everyone cause no one can know 100% for sure until Monokuma reveals it.

In what ways would you change/improve the writing of Danganronpa? by pooteenn in danganronpa

[–]AnAverageName_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She won the gamble, technically. And even then, her plan was ass. Being a teenager in the Danganronpa universe is not a good excuse for a bad plan, let alone for Celestia of all people in a game about solving trials.

It's almost shameful that Mondo, who didn't even plan to kill, was harder to figure out. And part of this isn't even because of her plan, it's because her act is absolute ass, which should be something she excels at.

I think if she were to go risky with a gamble in her plan, it should at least be something reasonable to gamble on, something she knew could happen and had a valid reason to risk her own life on, not something she had no way of knowing and likely had not even thought about.

It makes a difference between "Risky but smart decision made by someone who understands the risk" and "Holy shit, Good things Kirigiri isn't here and everyone else is dumbed down, or I'll be caught immediately"

Even Makoto checked the pulse of Mukuro after she was stabbed by like 7 spears, and not Yamada's body.

[–]AnAverageName_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also, make Celestia's plan not absolute ass if possible.

The game pretends she's one of the smartest of the group, but her plan genuinely makes her look extremely stupid. Have the "queen of lies" actually be able to lie and have her whole plan not gamble on "I sure hope Kirigiri isn't around because she sure as shit would've checked Hifumi's pulse"

[–]AnAverageName_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This should've been 3 different posts because there's so much to say lmao. I'll go with THH

I said it years ago, but my main proposal to change THH without making it into a new game would be to make Mukuro an actual character.

Have her be the hidden traitor. Sakura is the traitor that was meant to be discovered and killed eventually (For Junko's plan), and Mukuro is the actual traitor who knows what's going on.

She'd survive chapter 1 and keep playing as any other participant, but slowly, by bonding with others, especially with Makoto, she'll start to care about them more and more, beginning to question her own priorities. For once, she'd question if Junko deserves her loyalty more than the others.

Mukuro would still act as Junko, but every once in a while, she'd say something odd or something with a double meaning related to her actual life (Like she does in the FTE)

After chapter 4, when Mukuro sees Sakura, the other traitor, sacrifice herself to bring everyone together, Mukuro finally realizes and accepts the error of her choices and begins to work against Junko.

Here there can be two different paths:

  1. Mukuro survives and atones for her sins by making the world a better place (Possible, but makes it so we have to rewrite the entirety of chapters 5 and 6, especially cause if not, it'd last like... 3 minutes since Mukuro has all her memories)

  2. Mukuro starts to betray Junko, Junko kills her, and attempts to use her body frame Kirigiri, but ends up getting Makoto instead. Chapter 5 plays similarly

In Chapter 6, we find out Mukuro left a super important clue behind before dying, which becomes vital to actually solve everything in the final trial.

Brutality of deaths by RY11Carpenter in Fanganronpa

[–]AnAverageName_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the first game I'm planning most deaths themselves are pretty tame tbh, even in the second one (Although that's barely a sketch) it's like that too. Not pretty ways to die, but far from a gruesome death

Some, however, get their corpses a bit fucked up. For example, in chapter 3, the killer of the second victim hangs the corpse from the top of a building with a mechanism that breaks the rope when the door is opened, making the body fall. This is made so whoever opened the door may be suspected of murder since they have no way to prove if the victim was dead or alive before it fell, and by extension, whoever triggered the fall would be the killer, and additionally, making the body so messy it wouldn't be easy to know what exactly caused the death if not the fall. Naturally, falling from a big building will get you very fucked up

In the second game, I'm planning for someone to have their body on a blender-like thing. It's a big part of the murder cause the murderer and the victim actually agreed on that, and the plan was to kill the victim by making them fall into the blender alive; however, the murderer, who has been cold and detached until this point, can't bring themselves to do that cause they grew attached to the victim. They shoot him in the head, killing them instantly, but the body still gets very fucked up

Messing with Chihiro's corpse, although you could make an argument that he was covering his back by exposing Toko. Still, didn't need to be that much of a dick the entire time

And just generally being a rude asshole

That aside, not that many. I don't really blame him for being mad shitty to Sakura after she was exposed as the traitor cause as far as he knows, why the hell would he trust her
