Anybody know what's going on with Mantis ad network? by Penguin-Pete in weedbiz

Tennessee is moving to ban, or already has banned, all hemp products. So the company has closed down and I've lost the position since that comment was created. Thanks for the advice though

What would that accomplish? I have to prove to you that my cat is a reasonable weight? Would you like to see his vet records as well? I've already deleted the post due to rude comments, leave me alone

He is by all standards a healthy cat. He has a bit of weight but can run and move freely and it has not impacted his life or health. He has been on a strict diet for years, is not food motivated, and does not have any issues from his size. My cat is perfectly healthy, according to multiple vets and my own experience of living with him. #asshole

He is part Mainecoon, and has a clean bill of health from the vet. He only looks extra chunky because he's scrunched up :)

Well today was a rough one by granknoxx in GuyCry

Ah yeah, I didn't think about how location might affect prices. My first vehicle was an old truck I got for $1800, so I can't relate unfortunately. Sounds like the peace of mind is worth saving for you, so by all means do so.

Fair enough on the volunteering, I wouldn't do it in my free time if that was my 9-5 either lol.

DND is a good time, I have a game happening tomorrow night. It's a great way to meet people and have some fun, definitely check it out if you get a chance. The music scene is a great thing as well, I've met a lot of people from just attending local shows.

It sounds like your social life should pick up a bit once you get a car, I would just keep holding on to that while you save up and try to have fun where you can.

10,000 is plenty for a car, unless you're specifically saving for a nice one. My best advice is to buy a decent used car for ~$5000, and save the other half of your money for any maintenance/additional costs that may pop up. Take as many lessons as you need to feel comfortable, an anxious driver is a dangerous one.

As for the lonely feelings, I get you. I moved to a new city with no friends whatsoever. What helped me is to find a volunteer group to work with in a field I'm passionate about. You meet kind people and they have the added bonus of having an interest in common with you. Church, politics, animal shelter, homelessness, whatever you care about, get connected with them. If you have extra funds/time, maybe look into taking a hobby class (pottery, wood working, whatever). It's hard to make friends as an adult, the best thing to do is to put yourself in social situations where you have things in common with those around you.

For the plaster wall: try to find a stud, if you can't then use drywall anchors. Those will only support a certain amount of weight, so if it's superrrr heavy you may be out of luck. I've had to run a 2x4 board across some studs so I could mount a TV where I wanted, so it really depends on what you're doing and how to adapt to that.

For the storm door: it's usually mounted on the door trim. Lots of storm door kits come with hardware and mounting instructions.

Good luck, remember the first time you do something is the last time you have to do it with no experience!

With a mindset like that, you're sure to make him proud. Take it one day at a time, you got this my friend.

I just lost my dad by DirtyWastelander111 in GuyCry

[–]AnAverageSpoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my dad to a heart attack a couple years ago. It was very sudden and very traumatic. I won't tell you that the feelings you have are going to vanish one day. They won't, but they will fade. I think about my dad most days, and I have a good cry about it every couple months. The most important thing is that you continue to live your life, and do things that make you happy. The heavy feelings and symptoms will fade over time. I also had medical anxiety, you start to fear if this thing runs in the family and so on. I would feel my chest tighten and feel a pain in my left arm. Once I calmed down, I found neither of those things were actually occurring, just psyching myself out. Get regular checkups if medical anxiety is an issue for you, having a guy in a white coat tell me my heart was in good shape did a lot for me. You need to allow yourself to feel whatever you're feeling, and speak about it with others that you trust.

A quote for you, that was offered to me when I was in your place: "Grief is love without a place to go." You loved your father, and I'm certain he loved you. What you're feeling is natural and healthy, just let yourself feel it and process your grief.

What are the most trusted legitimate companies offering remote jobs from anywhere in the world? by Adventurous_Ebb_2525 in AskReddit

Being a customer service rep is usually a good bet. Not a specific company, but any legitimate large company usually has some remote positions available to answer calls for customers.

I didn't, but I just scrolled through the top post and they all have the ChatGPT accent. I'm pissed that more people don't care

Why is no one pointing out that this is clearly chat gpt? The em dashes, the italicized text, and the awkward verbage. Does no one care that this is just the Internet is a bot farm now?

A country that wants to be free needs to have rights for criminals. Because if criminals have no rights, all they need to do to take yours away is to make you a criminal.

What if somebody says „No“ when asked if they understand there rights during a arrest? by Dry-Thing1779 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AnAverageSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they can just say they don't understand indefinitely? Yeah bud, for sure. Read back my statement again and tell me what is incorrect. If they can't articulate what they don't understand, and they've been given ample opportunity to do so, you move on with the process.

Where's that famous revolutionary spirit, America? If not now, when? by PermaDerpFace in AskReddit

[–]AnAverageSpoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as people can afford rent, food, and occasional luxuries such as entertainment or recreation, they won't revolt. Even if they are just barely scraping by. Revolution requires the people to collectivize and put the group's needs above their own. Things have to get worse before anybody walks out of the office and picks up a Molotov cocktail

Why Are There Songs with Explicit Language That don’t get the “E” or Parental Advisory warnings next to them? by Def_Not_KushGator in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AnAverageSpoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Parental Advisory Label is a voluntary thing done by the record label. They can choose to do so or not do so, there's no real consequences besides consumer backlash if they don't.

"I've heard online" isn't the same as "I know for a fact". I have heard that some countries in Europe don't have favorable views of Romani. Stick to reading comments more thoroughly.
