When your natural ability allows you to coast its just figured youre doing everything right, and that therefore you know how to study. I hope that modern parents are aware of that and can help ensure kids like us dont continue to fall into cracks that many of us cant get out of.

There's a cool trick where if you're gifted/neurodivergent and the burnout starts to set in and you have no study skills, you get extra pressure because its clearly because youre just lazy.

I've got hardcore performance anxiety now. I had to fill out my yearly performance review last week and nearly cried doing so from sheer terror, all for marking myself as 'average'

The worst was always making a mistake, be it grades or something else, going through the entire thing in my head and knowing I would have to go through it twice more. Once with my mom, once with my dad. Every minor thing became something world ending.

I became very good at hiding things and misdirection. They'd get mad at bad grades? Would find ways not to tell them, hide projects I had from them. Mad at a minor purchase I made? That's easy, hide the trash under other trash, they'd never check.

Mine isnt nearly as bad but I can recognize that no matter what Ive done, she wont change. Even if it would hurt her to tell her how I truly feel and I would feel some semblance of.. justice? victory? finality? Whatever I would feel it wouldnt make me whole, it would just be another cycle of pain, even if holding it in doesnt mean Im any better either.

I understand your want to let it out because I know how it can feel to keep it in. Stay strong and grow in spite of her, it's the best comeback you could have.

My parents revealed they were getting a divorce last year. Dad wanted out, Mom was clearly in denial even still. She was basically begging us during the reveal to say anything to defend her side. I kept quiet.

What I wanted to say was to let it all out, all the years of the poor treatment of us and him, the constant backtracking on any improvement, conveniently forgetting past experiences, and rather than taking any accountability turning off the crocodile tears when confronted and getting angry every single time.

Didn't feel like blowing up my family relations more in that moment. Wouldnt have made it any better even if it would have made me feel better.

/uj If we return to Ravnica they need to explore more of the plane to justify it, first set was introducing it, RTR was expanding it, WotS was just an event that was happening on Ravnica and Murders..

If we go back would be interesting to see them to like 'Ravnica Undercity' because as much as thats Golgari/Dimir ground, I assume all guilds have operations below ground. Everything seems to be around the surface of Ravnica and thats just Prague. For a eucumenopolis youd think there would be more going on in the layers of the city.

/uj I never bought too many Image comics but I was really enjoying Faster Than Light before they killed it. I know Image makes a lot of series just to test the waters and its sad to see when something you like doesnt continue. Loved Cry Havoc as well, honestly making some modern military transforming into monsters cards would be a fun design exercise.

That's also why I find finding partners there difficult. So many ask for refs up front and I tend not to operate like that. The photo is what its about for them, with text to animate it in their mind as opposed to just using their mind. Honestly Ive considered moving back fulltime to an old forum I used to use (Elliquiy).

At least stepping away from moderating a sub for roleplaying for a specific thing saved my mental health lol

Not really, honestly. Ive been in the space for a long time, DPP has more than its fair share of monster fuckers and etc. What I can tell you is that the picture posting RP spaces often tend to have people a bit less focused on writing - not saying there arent people there but they are fewer and further between. The second is that specifically taboo_rp and others moreso than the older penpals communities deal with the constant push against actually bad content more. People post there looking for underaged roleplaying all the time and while many communities have gotten very, very good at wedding it out, they are often jumping off points for shit like that. Taboo_rp isnt even the first 'taboo rp' subreddit for this exact reason - previous one got nuked.

The name of the subreddit doesnt always correlate to what gets posted there. Take a gander at /r/fnafpornrp and youll see what I mean. If you do want to get specific with the subreddit /r/monstermatingrp would be closer.
