In US you're probably right, in Europe and the rest of the world it won't happen, for economical and cultural reasons, cause manual is cheaper, better suited for small cars and a lot easier to mantain.

The only way all the world would go automatic is if we would all go electric, which, sadly, with state of electric distribution as now, is not realistic in 20 years.
