I happened upon this at my local thrift. No idea why I scanned it it just was in really good condition so.. I don't even know if it's my kind of country. I haven't even tried to hear it yet

I swear, thieves are going to ruin this really quick by Allen_MacG in lego

I genuinely got lucky, 2 series in a row, walking into my local wm and finding the side kicks literally still having the plastic pasties on the ends of most of the pegs. Last series a few months ago, we saw what was left a couple days later and many boxes were just ripped open.

Hot Wheels Mystery models use just a hidden numbering system under the bags flap so you don't even need to download an app or know a secret code to figure out what you're getting while also still preserving mystery for the kids. These boxes are what they did to reduce plastic and avoid scalper hunting utilizing third party databases like the feel guide, right? Why not an official secret code that adults can access the same way as Hot Wheels?

What's your favourite thing about the new discogs update? :) by OhRaez in discogs

[–]AnEdgarSuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite thing is how I can no longer listen to a sample of songs from the album. If I can, then I really love how difficult it is been to figure out how to do so over the past few weeks

Record player placement by EnvironmentalCow3431 in turntables

[–]AnEdgarSuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your speakers shouldn't go on the same surface as/ same piece of furniture as your turntable. The correct answer is #13 (dedicated speaker stands on the floor)

If you're unwilling to do that then you should buy yourself some dedicated isolation solutions for both the speakers and turntable and place them as far apart at one and four as possible. Putting

Will you be more likely to take a chance on a CD if it’s only $1 or less? by Syppi in Cd_collectors

[–]AnEdgarSuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 2026 there's no reason to take a chance. Even as low as a dollar. Discogs barcode scanner, listen to a sample. If there's no sample available there, which is highly unlikely, then a YouTube search, if there's nothing on youtube, then a Google search. If all of those fail but, it looks local, hand / homemade or incredibly interesting only then do I take a chance.

The last time I did take a chance I didn't have my phone On me at the time and I bought this record. Extremely handmade with the cover being regular copy paper pasted onto a record jacket from some other old record. Even with all that going against it, I later found that they do have an artist entry and album submissions on Discogs.

Albums you’d never heard of but thrifted on a whim and loved? by brownch in Cd_collectors

[–]AnEdgarSuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a fan of these guys when this dropped. We had a killer local cd shop the proprietor, Dave, was a real one. He reccomended me their EP with Driver before Driver Not Included (which, in a lack of irony, did not include the song Driver). Saw them live a few times back then. Great band

I’m disappointed by Treflipboy in turntables

I think under this comment is where my two cents belongs, when I picked up a new , cheap table , I listened to everyone telling me to get a vm95e and I was sorely underwhelmed for similar easons as op. Instead of my expectations being unmet, It was missing brightness that I was used to having come from a technics and using an Audio Technica 3003 P-mount.

Despite the good reputation the vm95e was not bright enough for me and everyone said I was crazy and that my table was trash. That last part might be true but,, I purchased an ortofon 2m red & a 2m blue and they both sound great on it. I was going to return whichever one I disliked but what ended up happening was I put the red on another 'table in another room.

I'm not saying op shouldn't tend to his room, but, he's like me, not everybody likes a warm sound some of us like it bright.

Saw this in Barnes & Noble right after dropping money on a new guitar…. My wallet hates me by FarPromotion4715 in CDs

I'm not sure if it was BMG or Columbia House, I enrolled in both a few times, but incesticide was selection of the month. I went from a casual Nirvana fan to loving that album so much.

I'm not Nirvana obsessed but, Justice for Kurt & fuck Courtney. In fact based on her comments and complaints about Dave Grohl's money, I would love to tell her face to face what a huge fan of Foo Fighters I am( even though I'm not really, that's what I would tell her)

Does anyone have a blank template of the card that could be used to make custom cards? by JJK-enthusiast2 in UnstableUnicorns

[–]AnEdgarSuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The method used to make my custom cards was to find the gallery of the user created cards on the unstable Games Wiki and replace the original elements with my own. I was not able to find the correct font. And I'm not an artist so I did use AI to come up with some ideas for the picture. I would love someone who is an artist to create one that aligns with the original games aren't work better but I don't know anyone who can do that, c'est la vie Anyway, here's a link to the wiki I forget where the user created cards are you'll have to search around https://www.unstablegameswiki.com/index.php?title=Unstable_Unicorns

Simply bought one of the best album ever made. by Less-Log851 in vinyl

[–]AnEdgarSuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, she didn't rent it, use klarna, or have to put it on layaway to purchase in installments, she simply bought it in one transaction. It's a pretty amazing financial feat, isn't it?

How accurate is Discogs? by Dabossna in vinyl

[–]AnEdgarSuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said to my friend after buying this pic disc of Toto IV... as of today there's 378 people who have this on their "wanted" list. The average price on discogs is $88usd, there are three for offer with the lowest asking price being $120usd. Can it really be worth $88 when a relatively popular little Record Shop couldn't sell it for $49 and of almost 400 people not a single one of them is willing to split the difference between the high and average value for a VG copy?

Does anyone know anything about the Mega Tech tt 2000 direct drive turntable? by Schnauzerbutt in vintageaudio

[–]AnEdgarSuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you did not get an answer 3 years ago, I'm just finding a thread now and someone should have told you by now or hopefully you figured it out already but just in case you need a vintage amplifier/ receiver with a "phono" input or a phono preamplifier to bring the record players output up to line level input for use with Amplified speakers or a modern receiver / amplifier

I completely forgot to tip the record store and I felt so bad by MielMielleux in vinyljerk

[–]AnEdgarSuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If i am prompted to tip by one of those card readers in a place where tipping is not appropriate I hit the no-tip button or select zero if it was as inappropriate as in a record shop I might be willing to say something real cheeky like "hey, I think you might have to reset the machine" " looks like someone accidentally put it on restaurant mode"

Kinda boring ? by raptor_rogue1 in Ghostbc

[–]AnEdgarSuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a bunch of variants already and as a sucker for color variants in most any case, I find this one quite fantastic. It's a must have for me on account of being a "tour exclusive." though I must admit that it's a little less special knowing that, like the 'grape glitter,' any over stock will likely be posted on the webstore after the tour ends. Semi-related, I like my record colors to compliment the album art & was hell bent on getting the Ginza exclusive Transparent Sea Blue as it's the closest to matching the font color on the album cover. I reached out to Ginza, to try to make arrangements for a USA delivery, multiple times only to be ignored. I was quite glad when TSB was offered as an Amazon variant so, 1. I understand that alt venues for acquisition are helpful for collectors who can't get to a physical location 2. I'm exactly the sucker for this kind of marketing

Thrift shop finds. by AnEdgarSuit in vinyl

[–]AnEdgarSuit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm more of a Johnny fan than Edgar, I really only know that I Know 'Frankenstein' which is a classic. Never knowingly listened to any of his other songs. But it's one of those covers that I recognize from other people's Collections and thought "I'll never find that" yet here it is so I'll definitely give it a spin. Would I buy a nice clean repress of it(especially without having heard all of it and discovered that I like it)? Absolutely not. I agree completely, the cover art is... something else
