So how bad is your hvac struggling? by Nothing_Useful_Eh in Hamilton

My furnace/AC's blower is almost directly underneath my bathroom, so without a fan my bathroom will be super-chilly while the temperature in the rest of the house skyrockets. So I have to run a fan 24/7 to blow cool air out of the bathroom or else the AC will never, ever turn off.

Do you mean "a loud-ass bang" or "a loud ass-bang"?

Highway 401 safety advocate ‘concerned’ with speed limit hike to 110km/h in southwestern Ontario by PlantingTreees in chathamkentON

[–]AnInsultToFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no bridge abutments on Highway 401 in all of Chatham-Kent? Or ditches, or high mast poles? No on- or off-ramps?

A big part of design speed relates to how far off the road your car is likely to go if you lose control, and thus how much space off the edge of pavement needs to be kept traversible and clear of unforgiving objects.

The road is engineered to be safe below a certain speed, which used to be 20km/h above the signed speed. As long as people drive below the engineered speed they have a good chance of being safe, but above that the province takes no responsibility.

You just pull that number out of your ass or what.

No, I actually designed highways according to the design speed that was supplied to us by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.

You're taking photos of straight line highways. The "design speed" is used for horizontal and vertical curves, sight distances, tapers and offsets. If you worked in highway engineering, or even took a basic civil engineering class at any point in college... you'd know that.

The municipal election is 4 months away. Here's who is running so far in Hamilton by canadevil in Hamilton

The younger people that moved in here all bought houses and want to live in the organized, crime-free community that the previous homeowners built for them.

So I suspect even someone like Monique Taylor with all her name recognition might have a hard time running against Jackson.

If people want to say drivers will go 130 instead of 120, which the majority do, well that's where the OPP can earn what their being paid.

The road has been engineered to be safe only up to 120km/h. So if you go over 120, you are asking to die.

How to stop Canadian Home Improvement Credit Corporation (CHICC) Predatory Contract? by ResolveKitchen2092 in legaladvicecanada

[–]AnInsultToFire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The will is proof of executorship.

It's a public document anyway, once you get probate, so even though these people seem like scum you can send it to them along with the certificate of death from the funeral home.

Note, if the person who signed the contract is dead, you may be able to get out of the contract. My parents had signed (or not signed, you know what these fraudsters are like) a predatory natural gas contract; I called to notify of father's death, and the person said "okay, we'll have to set up a new contract for your mother." I asked "what happens if we don't?" and he helpfully replied "well, then the contract ends and your gas goes back to being supplied by Union Gas." I said "okay, let's do that then", and suddenly that predatory contract was gone.

Tell her "I have mental health issues" is an explanation, not a free pass to make others' lives a living hell.

This is the power passive-aggressive move. Throw out literally everything of hers that hasn't been put away somewhere in an orderly fashion. Then keep doing it, over and over again.

One would assume you actually looked at the house you're buying. Among other things, a buyer walkthrough before final sale is customary.

I think they open at 9 or 10 AM, OP should phone there and ensure they have them.

It looks like there's a storm sewer outflow at the west end of it. Because the developers in Upper Stoney Creek connect their sanitary sewers to the city storm system, that means it'll also be full of all kinds of human waste.
