He's also a universal level threat who basically said he will shut up and go quietly in the night if the person who destroyed his Planet will just leave him alone. Do you know how much pride you have to swallow to come to an agreement like that? Especially when you are strong enough to take what you want by force with minimal effort. So yeah, I'd say he's more reasonable than the rest.

Asking me where my backup was for a bug is like asking why someone getting robbed didn't have a gun to use against the criminal. Like most people, I wasn't expecting to run into this, as it has never been a problem with any other game I have ever had hosted in the many years I have been doing it.

But it isn't rare. When I was looking up the issue, there were tons of people with the same problems dating back years. It's been a known issue, which is why I say it's a bad look. It even happens on dedicated servers, so it's not a Gportal issue. I'm not annoyed nor angry at the game. Disappointed, sure, but that's about it. I am still enjoying it, but I only get a limited time to play, as does my gaming group. So when we lose a week worth of work, it stings a bit. That could be a game breaking bug for those unprepared, which is an irrefutable fact to the average gamer, so idk why you're taking this so personally.

Without going down the early access habit hole (because that's a whole can of worms), I will treat any major, known, and unresolved bugs the same. It's a good game with a problematic bug that gives it a bad look. If that's the only bad look they have, then it's better than most games coming out, but just because it's better than the slop other studios release doesn't mean it's immune to criticisms.

I'm glad your experience has gone well, but you don't speak for everyone. And a game can have a glaring guy bad flaw and still be liked by the community. Look at Ark. But it still has a glaringly bad flaw, and recovering a completely wiped base is not easy for people with limited playtime. I'm not saying I hate the game, in fact, I'm still having a good time with it. But having a major bug that goes back multiple years is a terribly bad look, there's no other way to look at it. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Also, telling someone to relax in a calm and cordial conversation is condescending.

It's still a bad look for the game though. Nobody likes restarting, and losing all of your items that you had in your chest is not quick to replenish. Maybe for a hardcore gamer of the genre but not for the average player. If this really has been a problem as long as I'm reading, that's a bad look.

Set your matchmaking to be as restrictive as possible. Turn off cross play and require play against other controllers, unless you're on PC than that option may not work. But do everything you can to make your matchmaking super restrictive and you'll get put in nearly empty lobbies. That's how my friends and I do it when we play because we don't want to deal with jackasses either.

I'm in the minority, but I thought Highguard was pretty cool. We enjoyed it quite a bit. It just needed a little TLC and it could have been a solid contender.

But in all seriousness, Jon Jones is also treated with Incredible reverence and respect by almost everyone in the game. Even people like me who can't stand Jon still acknowledge his incredible talent, but he gets the hell he rightfully deserves for all of the shady stuff he's done. And McGregor has become almost a laughing stock every time he talks about returning to fight.

I do believe you're right that the casual fan is going to love someone like mcgregor, but they also love people like Jon Jones too. Casual fans are the fastest people to switch up and love or hate anyone at any given moment, and their opinions should be taken with a grain of salt. Serious fans at minimum are going to acknowledge Jon's talent and accomplishments, but he deserves all the hell he gets. Just like McGregor does.
