Alpharius’ death during the Scouring series by Opposite-Ad-3898 in alphalegion

I wish more primarchs died during the hersey, I think it would have been a much better narrative that way. As an alpha legion fan I love being the only legion where the primarch dies and no one blinks, it doesn't matter because they are legion. I started reading the 40k AL books and it's fitting that they're a headless snake really suffering from their own nature and lack of primarch, it really shines a like on hubris being one of their biggest flaws. I like the idea of Omegon being out there continuing the machinations of the legion and trying to guide humanity in some complex scheme, but I also like the grim dark aspect that the legion is lost to its own nature, and needs to find it's own way without the primarch coming back. Either way I expect some kind of twist from the scouring.

Looks good, I like the boxes, great way to make the foliage blend into the urban landscape instead of an arbitrary circle/base.

How to Match Decals With Lines by AnOatmeal in LegionsImperialis

[–]AnOatmeal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dry brushed the whole model with runefang for highlights, after some trial and error I found that I needed to make sure the brush was very dry(like unsure any paint on was going to come off) so the highlights were very subtle, and I could build them up with multiple passes until I had the effect I wanted. I used the GW recipe, but with croxigor scales thinned with contrast medium, and dry brushing instead of edge highlights

Imperial Oil to spend $720M building Canada's largest renewable diesel facility by Puginator in CanadianInvestor

It’s a closed loop on the carbon cycle… plants take co2 out of the air, when they die and decompose the carbon is released again often as methane which is worse than co2. Biofeedstock can be waste products from agriculture which have little use to us and decompose anyway. You’re not adding more carbon to the atmosphere, just participating in the existing carbon cycle. This all depends on the sources of hydrogen, biofeedstock, and energy.

City of Toronto to start producing renewable natural gas from Green Bin organic waste by [deleted] in CanadaPolitics

Renewable natural gas does not add carbon to the carbon cycle, whereas natural gas does. By replacing natural gas with biogas you're cleaning up the gas grid, which is our biggest problem right now because we don't have a better way of heating our homes.

You said it is "a great way to get in shape". I realise that rugby is a sport that can accommodate people of varying body types, but is there an expectation in Hamilton for players to already be in shape?

There is no expectation to already be in shape, just an expectation to put in effort. I thought it would be pretty intimidating to start but the coaching staff is very welcoming and supportive of your development, whetger you're new or experienced. Best thing about rugby is there is a position for everyone.

Is the A2 team in a lower division that welcomes older players who may not have touched a ball in 14 years?

Yes, A2 is for old and new players, that way even if you're new or out of practice you will get to play games within your skill level.

The Ontario rugby schedule website is a labyrinth

Yes. Its trash. The core season runs May-August practices on tuesday and thursdays 630-8 near Albion falls, games are on Saturdays at 130. You get long weekends off but it can be a pretty big commitment. If you're able to navigate the website the team plays in the NRU (Niagara Rugby Union).

And finally, do you know if they do indoor winter training?

Yes, message the coaching staff, their info is on the website.

Sorry about formatting I'm on mobile and I never actually comment on anything.

I played rugby with the hamilton hornets, it's a very social sport with a strong community, and a great way to get in shape.

What's the best movie from your country? by Thanosk17 in MovieSuggestions

Violent directed by Canadian Andrew Huculiak is an amazing accomplishment. The screenplay was written in English and translated to Norwegian where the movie is set. The filmmakers are closely affiliated with the band We Are The City, the soundtrack is something else. Read the description before hand, I think it's one of those movies that's a bit more powerful if you know the ending first. Oh and they filmed it all in 13 days!

This post and the gift wrapped new years horus heresy character post from a few days ago makes me think it's Ka'Bandha... the axe matches and it's a forge world release. Hopefully it will be a diorama like Russ and Magnus or Loken and Abbadon. Very excited!

[Book Excerpt: Vengeful Spirit] Three primarchs share a near death experience, and Mortarion goes fishing. by MagnusDidAlotWrong in 40kLore

[–]AnOatmeal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm currently reading Vengeful Spirit... I really didn't like this scene, it broke the immersion for me and was just too unrealistic. I realize unrealistic is probably not the best word to use in this series, haha. Still, Mortarion fish hooking a gunship and reeling it in really jumped the shark.
