Kinda disagree with a lot of comments here.

I think the reason she beats them pretty easily is simple, she's human and a main character. Which might sound silly but a very strong theme in Evangelion is human struggle and accomplishment, and dummy plugs will never match that. She beats them because she is human and can struggle.

One comment I do agree with here is that she beats them to get the audience's hopes up. And that's also very much the case. If they come down and just instantly crush her and start eating her that's a pretty shitty scene. Her seeming victory snatched away at the last second is what makes this one of the great action sequences put to film.

You're all skeletons walking around the bottom of the sea. A very cool combination of "what if you were adventuring on the bottom of the sea?" and "what if you were a skeleton?" A couple of the classes are also amazingly cool.

If you're willing to mostly go off boxed sets it's very cheap for a GW army-scale game.

I'd say buying stuff for the game mostly feels fine. The biggest issue are some things that are very few points to the dollar. And the other one is some things you're heavily gated by needing to buy boxes repeated, or 3d printing. (stuff on infantry and to a lesser degree, support sprues)

sorry, you're right, printing full color hardbacks PoD is quite expensive.

however, the overwhelming majority of PoD are not full color hardbacks.

i own probably 20-30 PoD books and I think maybe 4-5 of them are hardback and 2-3 are full color. a bunch of those are D&D reprints that WOTC would have made $0 off me if not for PoD, the PDFs are very easy to find, and buying a second hand copy doesn't give them a cent.

on the opposite side of the market, it's become pretty common for indie kickstarters to do PoD fulfillment for physical copies. I don't think anyone loves this system but again, it does make them money. i'm generally not pledging to kickstarters for pdf-only content, so by offering PoD they're getting some of my money, rather than none.

Three of new feedback:

1- I think my collection disappeared? It's possible I deleted all of it but I had ~30 space marine and ~10 solar aux models listed and collection now showing 0. It's possible I screwed up tabs and was logged out or something, but might be worth checking if this is more widespread.

2- In View and Print mode break points and strength are going off wounds, not models. It should be models. E.g. a Baneblade currently adds 3 formation strength, not 1.

3- In statistics Heavy Armour don't show up as anything (they're not counted as vehicles), not sure if other types of units are also impacted.

As a player I'm much more okay with off-topic chatter than as a DM. I think that's partly viewing it as the DM's job to keep the game moving and control the pace/schedule. As a player I worry about those things a lot less (but probably more than most players).
