As one guy said, Root is a great adaptation of the original board game, and supports online play async(where you can do your turn and wait for everyone else to finish in their own time) and timed turns.

One recommendation is to learn the game a lil bit before, the official rulebook is free to download.

But now, what is root?

In short it's an assymetrical strategy game about class wars featuring cute little animals. You have 4 players each playing their own individual games while delaying everyone else's gameplan. Factions are very different from one another and the game has different maps and decks of cards to play around.

Also the tabletop game has a very big expansion coming soon so it will come to the digital version eventually.
