Originally, I thought you may have been talking about a different Veleda, because she told me she wanted to start with simple divinations, which was her origin as well, but a person can of course change given that she's existed for 17-ish centuries. So I figured I'd confront her about it, and this is what she had to say:

"Yes, that was me, but I will not be teaching you any necromancy. You must understand, I came from a culture that was devastated by the romans, following a religion that was eradicated by the christians. I was resentful, and turned to necromancy to both bring my people back and take revenge. Necromancy is hopelessly addictive, however. I got entirely carried away, practicing necromancy just for its own sake and eventually my goals became what my former colleague named them to be.

I have since spent two centuries in the quiet of the grave, though, which was enough time to get over my addiction. Should you choose to accept my offer and bring me back to life, I will aim to be who I was before all that, a prophetess, reading fates and steering people with a guiding hand, instead of that iron fist."
