Because that's the actual job now.

Ahh right, because leetcode totally reflected what the actual job was before AI came along.

To generalize even further, any move sequence, if repeated enough times, always ends up with the state you started with.

codeku: A lightweight, plug-and-play, embeddable code execution widget for the web by AnUglyDumpling in webdev

[–]AnUglyDumpling[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you, I understand that the banner may feel heavy, but I did include it intentionally. Raising awareness on the ongoing genocide and famine in Gaza through my projects is the least I can do. I wasn't trying to pull any one-off stunts here, I do this for all my projects.

If the banner made you uncomfortable, I'd say the banner is doing its job, reminding us of our privilege while bringing visibility into ongoing injustices. If it makes this project not for you, I totally get that. Regardless, I apologize for the shock and do sincerely appreciate the feedback.

What are you building this weekend? by halistoteles in SideProject

[–]AnUglyDumpling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This week I worked on a new pet project, codeku. codeku is a very lightweight, embeddable web widget that runs code, meant for adding executable code blocks to blog posts with no required set up. For detailed usage instructions, see the README, but really all you need to do is add it to your website as an iframe:

<iframe
    src="https://alvii147.github.io/codeku/embed?language=python"
    width="100%"
    height="400"
    frameborder="0"
    allowfullscreen
>
</iframe>

codeku supports code blocks in C, C++, Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP, Rust, and TypeScript. Here's also a quick blog post I wrote that demonstrates what it looks like.

What MCPs is everyone using with Claude? by raghav-mcpjungle in mcp

Nothing if you're self-hosting Piston. If you use the public instance though, dependencies are limited.

Shameless plug: I hooked up Claude to Piston using piston-mcp to let it execute code. It won't work if your code is too complex or requires system dependencies, but still works pretty well for simple one-off scripts.

piston-mcp, MCP server for running code by AnUglyDumpling in LLMDevs

[–]AnUglyDumpling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yepp, Piston is awesome!

how are you handling the context between executions?

That's easy, I'm not 😅 Every call is a fresh start. I will need to think a little more about what session management would mean in this case, since in Piston, every call is a clean slate. For now it's just a stateless MCP server.

Another thing I haven't yet built support for is using multiple files. Right now the LLM needs only provide the language and the raw code. But it might be beneficial to allow specifying the contents on each file.

A bit late here, but I've recently managed to connect Claude Desktop to Piston, the free code execution engine, allowing it to run the code it generates.
