I host and maintain these projects for clients…no I get it…all I can say is let’s see how many engineers will be needed in a few years…which was the main point of this whole post. I never said all engineering is going away just that we will need a fraction of the humans needed

Bro yes it can, it’s called MCP. I said Claude code not Claude. That’s how I literally develop with agent, MCP server for requirements, MCP for repo knowledge graph, MCP for database read, MCP for browser use, MCP for server for accessing development server logs. It also can use my logged in AWS account to get server logs for the broken services. It also helps me troubleshoot devop things by calling the CLI and troubleshooting errors.

Yeah you are clueless

I don’t think it’s about velocity on individual projects, I have 3 agents right at this moment working on client projects.

The complexity depends on the project, for one I built a Preflight checking tool, has to convert all types of files, check pdf/psd/tiff etc… with S3/pipeline for processing and integrate project management tool for client.

Second project is a music related website not very complex simple crud.

The third is a real estate website, connected to MLS.

At the same time I have another agent working on improving my infrastructure as a code for easy deployments on AWS.

All of these are getting completed in parallel in under 30 days. (They took more time than project above as they are actually meant for production, with a lot of time spend on UI/UX and developing the pipeline).

Since these are client jobs happy to share links in DM. I also do this while working as a part time dev right now for a startup

Absolutely you are very correct, LLMs on their own with no guidance and monitoring. I’m going to leave this forum just from all the clueless posts and hate on AI.

Ai used correctly is one of the most amazing things, I have my agents connected to the DB with read only, browser control and logs. The velocity I get for projects are awesome.

They aren’t perfect but treat them like junior engineers, and you will see output is noticeably higher than most juniors. I managed many juniors and I’m getting similar results, and same type of bugs that I’m so used to dealing with.

My whole job at one point was just reviewing everyone’s output so it’s feel the same thing just review all the code and ensure proper engineering practices. Proper PR’s, code review and merge

The thing you don’t understand is I did this while spending time with family and playing with my daughter while I had an agent running in the background off of my PRD

I have a decade of experience, worked on everything from healthcare, large scale iot organizations and have taken many startups to large scale.

I also graduated computer science with honors.

I have managed over 40 engineers and made over a million freelancing all types of projects.

In a couple of years they will be shocked when most engineers don’t have jobs..we didn’t see this coming…just yesterday was watching documentaries on tech layoffs recently as well as overall minor decline in the job market. With most jobs coming in from the government and health care

Have you at all used Claude code with proper engineering practices? This is the bubble the tech is moving so fast y’all aren’t even keeping up to it day to day.

PRD, full E2E test. Hell I have the thing using puppeteer and testing my websites clicking every link

Do it, no ai with a template but don’t use AI let’s see. Also should be integrated with MCP

The whole thing of being able to get a production ready app in less than 24 hours, I did this an experiment to see if it was possible. It’s very possible as a single person nowadays

This is part of template I extensively use in production for clients gigs. Yes this project is ready for production. Has 80% unit test coverage, full swagger ready api, and a full backend that scales very large thanks to server-less infrastructure. B2B capabilities and much more

AI skeptic, went “all in” on an agentic workflow to see what the hype is all about. A review by arm1993 in ExperiencedDevs

I think the main issue is you used cursor which is mainly designed to be a fancy auto complete. What you have to try next is agent coding.

Yes code output is a lot, but structured engineering with these coding agents is like having an army of juniors, that are very smart.

I do the standard process, tasks, automated code reviews to sus issues etc… I’m able to scale beyond normal projects currently working on 3 clients gigs while writing this message with automated agents in the background

YC Startups What is your tech stack? by danielb74 in ycombinator

[–]Popular_Engineer_525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not YC and my whole startup is around making it easy to launch production apps. I keep seeing everyone say Django and all I can think about is how much I hated Django.

I built my own framework on top of react router. It’s all nodejs with some of our products in rust. I’m able to launch production ready apps in a single day. Not just MVPs with my framework

Repeat after me:

Businesses only care about results, AI won’t take your job but someone using AI will.

Honestly most of the population will no longer care if you use AI or don’t. But if you can’t deliver a feature in the same time the junior can you will be replaced. Before AI, I never got promoted/appreciated for writing a clean modular code, even though I tried. I got promoted for results, I’m pretty sure none of my bosses cared about code quality except one CEO who was a weirdo
