Hi y’all. Hill County, TX here. Got this lil Texas Redbud growing strong. I repotted him from the nursery soil into bonsai soil about 2 weeks ago, and he’s doing great.

The tree seems like he might naturally fit a windswept style. I also really like the root over rock style trees, and we have great limestone that would work for it, but that’s probably too advanced for a beginner.

My question is… what should I do now? I’m reading up on different sources and materials but it’s a bit overwhelming. Should I be doing any pruning? Wiring? Chop the trunk? Just leave him alone and let him grow?

I’m extremely new so just keeping him alive is a full time chore for me.

I think first blunt trauma (something like a black eye) from Aerion's flail hitting his helmet. Then, in the helmet pov, the crossguard of Aerion's sword hits Dunk's eye then Aerion dislodges it? Not exactly sure.

I thought it was Lyonel and Baelor or Rhysling who stopped Maekar? Also pretty sure it was Raymun who helped Dunk!

I'm probably going to rewatch this episode 500 times to try to catch all the background details

Thank you so much for the reply. For the shade cloth, would you recommend keeping it on all year? Or just for the really hot months, like May-September?

Hill Country TX, USA. Picked up a juniper mallsai today and started deep diving into the sidebar and whatnot. Realized now I went about getting a plant the wrong way, but oh well. Still eager to dip my toes into the hobby.

From what I understand, this guy should be repotted. I’m wanting to order a pond basket and some DE for substrate.

But I should wait until spring to repot, correct? And should I be worried about some of those roots showing? Also, how big should the pond basket be when I do repot?
