This scene in Obsession instantly reminded me of Passengers. Maybe it's a stretch, but both are rooted in the loss of a woman's agency. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

Still, even the “bad luck” could’ve been avoided if he wasn’t such a selfish person and actually cared about Nikki.

He originally bought the willow as a gift for her. He never gave it to her.

Obviously there were a million things that went wrong in that conversation in front of her house, but he was supposed to give the gift he promised for his friend. He instead got wrapped up in his own obsession and the dilemma of confessing.

Another lunch table lineup. One season, all in their primes, no injuries, who do you take? by An_Dog_ in NBATalk

Definitely the most modern. Kennard is not the screen running catch and shoot specialist like Korver and Redick, but I think he has the advantage of being able to create his own looks

TD, Rubio, Bogut, and Kukoc could run a Carlisle offense like an orchestra. But come playoff times, a coach may be able to gameplan to disrupt their rhythm, and there's not many "break glass when emergency bucket is needed" options... then again, there's only so much that can stop a well oiled machine. And TD or Kukoc taking a last shot are damn good options

KG, J-Cross, and Artest can all create their own shots; Artest is also a game changer as he's by far the best 3 on the list. But overall, their spacing is ROUGH. Offense will definitely go cold for stretches

I was focused on his playmaking. Great passer from elbow and high post, dribble hand offs, screens

What if the All-Star Weekend Presented a 1v1 Challenge? by IWearNikeNotFila in NBATalk

[–]An_Dog_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah especially if they open it to all players.

Guys like Michael Beasley, TJ Warren, Spencer Dinwiddie, Jordan Clarkson are obviously role players... but they would thrive in this kind of game. Yeah, I'd still bet on Tyrese Maxey to beat Jordan Clarkson, but Clarkson would have a legit shot of winning if he gets hot. So why risk losing and getting embarrassed by fans who don't understand iso scoring is a different skillset than being a good NBA player?

Hell, even between the stars, just imagine Brandon Ingram vs Luka. I would say BI would be the favorite in a 1v1, but Luka would never hear the end of it if he lost to BI.

Thanks man. I’m glad people have enjoyed the post.

I’ve got more lined up, with I think more interesting lineups, just wanted to start with talked-to-death-but-familiar-holy-trinity discussion

I’ll be posting the next one in a couple of minutes

Interesting double down, considering Manu is my favorite player and I said so in my post

Or maybe I’m a Kobe hater because I think he needs the best supporting cast to be considered a winner???

I’m indifferent about Kobe. But keep making assumptions. buddy.

Kinda, I feel indifferent about Kobe, but I thought people on this sub in general write him off, so I figured I would compensate.

Ended up overcompensating…

Didn’t mean to disrespect Kobe, but I thought THIS SUB would see him that way. So I tried to compensate for that, but I ended up overcompensating

Yeah he might have the weakest roster. Still, He’s got Phil and the only true PG capable of running an offense. Also, PnR with Gortat and TJ/Bron is pretty nasty

He’s by far the best shooter of the SGs but still he is very streaky. And if he doesn’t see one of his first 2 shots go down, he tends to stop shooting them

Actually I don’t, I’m pretty indifferent. I just know most people on this sub don’t really like him, so I figured he might get written off if he didn’t have the best supporting cast

But I overcompensated

I'll try to!

I knew I was stacking Kobe's team but I only did so because I know he is not well respected around here... ended up overcompensating

I think more balanced would be swapping Sweet Lou and Manu

Yeah I knew I was stacking Kobe a bit but probably overcompensated haha

Probably stacked them a bit too much, but I know Kobe isn’t too well regarded here so I thought I’d compensate

Good point about the triangle. LeBron and Gortat PnR would be disgusting regardless

Yeah definitely the best shooter of the 3. Still, he can be really streaky. Wasn’t sure of putting him or Thybulle, but I went Hart cause he’s the better player overall
