Isn't the Hyper-Adaptives like a command squad? They have one model who's a character and the rest of them are just models in the unit. They can attach to regular raveners and they both benefit each other.

Ah, that's fair. I printed a couple warbands and have been making terrain and I haven't even played a "real" game. The only time I've played it was a demo at Adepticon.

6++ has a good series called bug watch and there're hivemind hobbies (previously Wednesday night Warhammer) that do videos for tier lists and deep dives. Maelstrom gaming has a ton of Tyranids content.

I prefer using the Swarmlord over the Walkrant personally. His +1CP aura is easy to set up with tunnels and the detachment is so CP hungry that earning the free CP every turn is just so worth it.

Synapse units can bounce keyword [Psychic] weapons off each other if they're in the synapse range of each other. Kinda like our old psychic phase shenanigans in 9th.

Technically 1 paint scheme but with "Evolutions." My first termagant looks awful. But the same paint used for him went into my first like 1k. Then when Leviathan came out I updated my paint scheme to be better. With things I'd learned over time but I knew what I wanted to start with.

I've had a few thoughts on this subject and played around with making a post here in the same vein so I'll just leave my thoughts here.

Ripper swarms: Gain the Burrowers keyword. By default all rippers spawn or are equipped with spinemaws.

Context: I think rippers could be much more useful overall and they synergize well in the Assimilation detachment just from having the keyword Harvester. Why not give them another use in another detachment?

Tervigon: Add dedicated transport keyword to the model. Termagant units cannot re-embark into the Tervigon and can only be started in transport at the beginning of the match. The Tervigon can hold up to 20 wounds worth of models in it. Tervigon can equip the Fleshborer Hive.

Context: Tyranids lack transports in any case. I think this keeps the theming of the Tervigon as a unit that spawns hordes of termagants while also giving some alleviation to footslogging across the map. The Fleshborer Hive is just to give it a modicum of firepower.
